We are actively watching racist rhetoric at work here. The shit they spew is not harmless.

[–] proper@lemmy.world 29 points 1 month ago (3 children)

I still can’t fathom how people buy this super outlandish shit though. This is Pzza gate 2; the dog father

We need to start taking it for what it is: these people have been conditioned by an actual disinformation campaign. It's not that there are more dumb people. We have an entire segment of the population which has been systematically programmed.

[–] Zink@programming.dev 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

People absolutely get conditioned to just accept certain crazy stuff and reject reason. But that doesn’t completely release them of the responsibility of being thinking human beings. Though it’s easy to not even try when what you’re conditioned to accept is part of your identity and those close to you.

But it can happen. I’ve been consciously tuning out various types of conditioned subconscious reactions for my entire adult life.

Oh, I totally agree. My comment was intended more to get away from the idea that these people are simply unintelligent, which I don't think is the case.

100% they have a responsibility to think critically. Conditioning may make that difficult, but a lack of effort would be an entirely different thing.

[–] Zink@programming.dev 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Agreed here also. I would imagine there’s some kind of correlation with intelligence, but I also bet it’s even more intellectual laziness like you’re suggesting. And maybe coupled with some emotional immaturity. So many people just don’t like questioning themselves, and/or see questioning one’s ideas as questioning their worth as a human being.

It is not blameless, for sure.

There are a LOT of really stupid, really hateful people in the US.

[–] WoahWoah@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

My theory is that being stupid makes you hateful until you reach profoundly stupid and then you're happy again.

Like, dogs are stupid, but they fucking love life. A piece of shit on the ground can keep them happy for hours.

What I'm saying here is maybe we've been going about this all wrong. Instead of trying to make the stupid people smarter, maybe we should be trying to make them stupider.

[–] theherk@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

We’ll see if it gets legs like PG, but you’ve given it a damn good name either way. I hope this fades into memory quickly before people start making good on these threats.

And to think that there's some couch out there sitting by a road that hasn't been JD Vanced with all these bomb threats. Shame.

People are big mad that Springfield didn't find pet-eating Haitians when demanded by Trump.

[–] mean_bean279@lemmy.world 28 points 1 month ago

Trump calling Springfield officials: “I just need you to find and eat 11,780 pets”

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The files are in the computer

Those files will reveal all the evidence the City Commissioners were hiding!!!!

[–] thefartographer@lemm.ee 3 points 1 month ago

Where did the files go?

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 42 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

I’m a parent in Ohio but nowhere near Springfield, and my kid’s school just sent out a notice that multiple schools in Ohio, including my kid’s school system have received threats in the past couple days.

Now, I’m not saying it’s MAGA, but come on. That cult is a shade away from a terrorist organization.

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 month ago

A shade away? They openly claimed it with a giant fucking banner saying "we are all domestic terrorists"

[–] vegeta@lemmy.world 26 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

The dogs are revolting against the government that won’t protect them from being eaten.

[–] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 25 points 1 month ago

Here is comes. MAGA is a terrorist organization.

[–] LEDZeppelin@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago

All you have to do is find me 11,480 people eating pets

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 12 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

The klan was never defeated, they changed how they approached everything. The recruited and grew behind close doors. The unwashed orange, shit smelling, ~~retarded~~, racist, incest dreaming, dog shit opened those doors for them. We need to stomp these out for good.

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Springfield, Springfield,

It's a helluva town!

The schoolyard's up

And the shopping mall's down

The pet dogs go

In illegal immigrants' mouths!

[–] ravhall@discuss.online 2 points 1 month ago

I can feel my jazz hands tingling.
