Seems interesting. As far I know I think why not, as long as you place Dragging Equipment Detectors (example) before and after the installation areas. Seems a good a place as any for solar panels, especially on only occasionally frequented lines.

Any notion that taxpayers are taking on risk here is fanciful given that any loan will be backstopped by Constellation's entire $80-billion-plus value.

Not to worry taxpayers, despite us paying out dividends to equity holders, our $70 billion plus value means this loan is still safe and sound!

Don't worry taxpayers about us spinning off 90% of our assets to Galaxy Brain Energy, a totally independent and different energy company that we didn't just pull out of our ass. The loan is still backed by our $7 billion plus value, trust!

Nobody wants state-sponsored inspectors to probe your life. But random nosy "concerned citizens" reporting on behaviour the state doesn't like? Hell yeah, and even better we have no shortage of willing participants!

Everytime I see Chevron now, I'm like, "which terrible Chevron is this? The oil company? Or how the Supreme Court nuked the ability for federal agency experts to be experts?"

Now I don't expect you to waste time and energy on topics you don't want to talk about with that family, but I wonder if you've seen the latest batch of unsealed evidence from Jack Smith's filed motion on the 2020 election case... (key takeaways).

Up to this point, I had more or less given Trump the benefit of doubt. I had figured that riling up a base telling them it's not over is the kind of thing that could lead to violence. However, nothing so far linked directly to Trump against the most charitable interpretation of events that Trump had just let it happen with no knowledge of a plan to overthrow government, and for all intents he would have wanted to peacefully transfer power to the rightful winner of the election. The evidence here disproves that, he wanted to stay president by any means possible, was warned by Mike Pence and told repeatedly to step down. He was aware of potential consequences and when the events of Jan 6 transpired he wilfully withheld taking any action, and his "so what?" comment tells me his inaction wasn't due to shock or surprise.

AG Paxton's new rule would be that the entranceway of every polling location in Texas can only be open once every 10 minutes for 30 seconds at a time, to prevent voter fraud of course.

The high-vis vest guy being the end-of-train marker is kinda fun.

umu, what's this?

Jokes aside, I actually needed this since I used to run Proton just like WINE but after some version many games didn't work by just changing "wine" to "proton".

Just put it on the side streets - Doug Ford's gaslighting compromise might work in some cities like Montreal and Vancouver but aren't well suited for Toronto and its suburbs.

People think vice presidential candidate Tim Walz is nice. But is he... too nice? From his dangerously folksy upbringing, to the National Guard, to teaching America's future enemies in China, Tim Walz's "nice" act isn't fooling anyone. This is the Dailyshowography of Tim Walz.

Hey everyone, just a reminder in case you hadn't seen it or forgot from months ago, the Canadian official e-petition is at this link as part of the Stopkillinggames.com campaign. Maybe we can get some clarity from our government on what our rights as consumers are when buying access to video games.

Signature collection ends at 9:30am ET/6:30am PT on Thursday 5 Sept 2024.

Video shared from a Mastodon user.

Some Lemmy user at one point had asked about a "multi-paste" feature, if there was a way to use keyboard shortcuts to display multiple clipboard items and copy/paste them out at will (this user mentioned similar to RTS games they like to play). ~~If someone can find that post, can you notify them and direct them here, please? I'm having trouble locating it but I recollect that it was within the last 3 months.~~ Edit: I found the post!

Somehow this was stuck in my mind when I accidentally pressed a keyboard shortcut, that showed my last 5 copied items. This isn't exactly what the user was looking for but I thought I'd publicize it here.

If you use Fcitx (because you need multi-language input) from the fcitx5 packages, then you may already have installed the clipboard add-on. You can use fcitx with just one keyboard layout. By default, it's activated by Ctrl+semicolon and shows the 5 last entries, but the number can be configured.
