She should low-key taunt and push buttons. We already know the sorts of words to peel his skin off.

"(gently laughing)Well... I'd be embarrassed to have been duped so hard as to repeat that. How humiliating for the guy to be so constantly bamboozled. Trump's turned getting swindled and deceived into an art form. More like, "The Art of the Steal (from Donald)" Poor man is a walking victim, outwitted and duped at every turn."

I want to see a full-on, public, narcissistic collapse.

Narcissistic collapse occurs when a narcissist’s ability to uphold their grandiose, confident image is threatened. As a result, they often become enraged, resulting in impulsivity, intense lashing out, or harm to others. While this reaction isn’t typically intentional, it’s a way for the narcissist to re-establish a sense of control.

All she needs to do is after he talks respond with, "Well, that was a weird answer." And watch the fireworks.

I think we should give Trump unlimited cocaine before the debate.

You tryin' to get your hand bit?

[–] TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Some booger sugar would make the debate watchable.

I want him to think he can rail like it's 1986 again and just "see where it takes him"

I'm not optimistic about the debate. Any publicity tends to work in Trump's favor as his fans and the complicit news media will gloss over any mistakes while magnifying even the slightest gaff by Harris.

Trump falls asleep - media: he's working so hard for us he is exhausted.

Harris pauses for a second before answering - media: did Harris have a mini-stroke? What is she hiding about her health?

trump genuinely shits his pants on stage: The radical left purposely poisoned our god-emperor in an attempt to make him look not absolutely perfectly spotless on stage how dare those corrupt election-straling criminals do such an unfair thing to on the communist fake news channel abc!

Harris clears her throat once: DRUG TEST KAMBLABLAH PEOPLE ARE SAYING SHE WAS POPPING PILLS BEFORE THE DEBATE IN AN ATTEMPT TO KEEP HER MIND SHARP BECAUSE SHES NOT AS WELL SPOKEN AS SHE CLAIMS TO BE HOW DARE SHE WOMEN SHOULSNT BE ALLLOWED TO SERVE IN GOVERNMENT SHE GOT HER DRUGS FROM TYRONE OR JAMAL

"I think — I pray — he can be disciplined," Tricia McLaughlin, who was a senior advisor to Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign for the 2024 Republican nomination.

Wow. "I think" "I pray". I always thought their phrase of "thoughts and prayers" was just an empty platitude as an excuse for inaction. I turns out that's not the case! That's really their go-to gameplan they use for themselves in the place of concrete actions.

They're trying to drop our expectations lower than they already are. Don't fall for it. He's not going to be like a "lab rat on cocaine" whatever that means.

[–] Silverseren@fedia.io 10 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I honestly expect him to be even worse behaving in the debate than previous times and spend the entire time just trying to insult Harris with sexist statements and the like, trying even less to answer the debate questions than he usually does (which admittedly isn't much at all anyways).

[–] snooggums@midwest.social 11 points 1 week ago

I give him 50/50 odds on dropping a N-bomb.

That's my expectation.

He's not shown any indication that he's capable of any other strategy. When cornered he always seems to double down rather than any kind of finesse.

What do you call it when you keep moving the goalposts, but you keep moving them closer?

[–] morrowind@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago

~~edging~~ building tension

wait now that I think of it, moving them closer actually makes it more difficult to score a goal
