Trump is the Republican candidate, but anyone young enough to actually believes in conservative talking points would not see him as a conservative candidate and would see him as a threat to the party.

Registering as a Republican makes him a Republican no matter who he votes for.

You are thinking of libertarian vs conservative or liberal.

Assuming he is not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, each additional day on death row is an affront to justice.

The courts need to speed up the process, which is what the prosecutor is basically asking for by not wanting to wait.
