Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

There’s nothing weirder than mocking happiness.

Except, perhaps, fucking a couch

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 21 points 2 months ago (1 children)

nothing makes GOP more miserable than the people they hate being happy

[–] Xeroxchasechase@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Black Strong Happy Woman. That's what they fear the most

The "attack" about her having a cheerful side is as impotent as that time they released a video of AOC dancing as part of a school project.
"Look at these outrageous people who seem human instead of looking like even dustier versions of Statler and Waldorf!"

[–] Boddhisatva@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Now I want to see an orange Statler with a comb-over and a pantyliner stuck to the side of his head.

[–] SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Harris from the podium: " You guys are weird."

Trumpdorf: "I am so weird, the weirdest, you have never seen anything weirder."

Statvance: "but really, we're not weird at all."

Couch with blond wig shakily peeks above the wall: "don't believe anything he says"

Statvance knocks couch out of the box, a squelching sound and breaking glass is heard.

"OOOO-OH-OH-OH"

There’s something deeply fucked up in our culture, and it took me years to really shake it out of my brain once I realized how vile it was. And it’s essentially that your worth as a human being is tied to your productivity or your ability to contribute to the economy. Partying and dancing and art are not productive and are self indulgent wastes of time. From the eyes of a miserable bitter old Republican, a pretty young woman dancing and laughing with friends generates anger and resentment.

Kamala actually seems like a functional human who enjoys life. I don’t know what Convicted Felon Donald Trump is supposed to be.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 28 points 2 months ago

She comes across as alive. No wonder Donnie is triggered.

[–] lobut@lemmy.ca 20 points 2 months ago

Fuck the GOP. They said some real mean shit to Michelle Obama and now they're getting offended by "weird". Fuck them.

MALA 24 - Making America Laugh Again

[–] Zink@programming.dev 2 points 2 months ago

When I say KA, you say MALA!

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 13 points 2 months ago

Trump can't even stand normal! Much less laugh in public like a human.

[–] UncleGrandPa@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

It occurred to me the other day... I cannot remember seeing trump ever smile or laugh. Snear?.. sure even a smirk or two. But i can't remember him actually showing.... Happyness or even mirth

[–] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

She has the choice of being caricatured as an Angry Black Woman or a Frivolous Black Woman.

Whee, America.

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

Oh, they'll do both.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

They mocked Hillary for her laugh, too, so I don't think it's confined to Black women.

[–] LaunchesKayaks@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

I love how much Kamala laughs.

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 6 points 2 months ago

Everyone knows GOP has always had a thing against laughing black women.

[–] Boozilla@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Tiny wilted mushrooms are pretty funny.

What's wrong with the bot?

[–] thesystemisdown@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

They seem to take issue with the donation solicitation.

[–] AhismaMiasma@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

I do find that concerning, but more concerning is that this was implemented at the whims of a select few. These individuals are treating this as an objective/unbiased authority on truth that they feel needs to be communicated on every single post.

[–] curbstickle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 months ago

If you don't like it, block it.

It's working as the mods intend it to, making it a good bot.

Is there an example of this laugh that everyone is talking about?
