I think that trying to please everyone is generally a bad idea, especially when it comes to niche social justice issues and identity, because everyone thinks their personal rules are universal these days.

With that said, body type over gender is step in the right direction.

I LOVE stealth games.

Such great fun, even if a tad stressful to pull off at times.

Origins was my favorite entry in the series, personally.

I'm still playing Caveblazers. Can't believe I've gotten almost 10 hours out of a game I got for 99 cents, but it's fun.

LOL at the comments suggesting nothing should be done because this is hard to enforce.

That reasoning is why we don't have legal abortion, universal health care, a living wage, or term limits.

Some things may be hard to do. It's no excuse not to try.

Not awesome.

Having a depressive episode that's messing with my appetite and I've woken up early three times this week.

Meanwhile the guy who perpetrated the My Lai massacre just died in peace at the ripe old age of 80 and only ever served a year of house arrest.

Awesome.

They are now.

That's what I don't get with the Anti-Brave crowd. Brave learns their users don't like a feature and then they do better. This would, to me, be indicative of the way things should proceed.

Meanwhile Firefox is moving backwards.

By all means, use a browser that doesn't work as well, but maybe don't run a circle jerk of trolls whenever someone offers a better-working alternative.

I appreciate the offer.

I ran a dual boot Mint install on my main PC for two months and it was just too buggy. I had to switch back to full Windows, but I know it's an issue with Nvidia and some distros have been Nvidia compatibility, so when I make the switch again I'm just going to use a different one.

Least favorite - Joycons. They make my hands ache, and I hate that to enjoy my switch I have to have a 3rd-party grip.

Favorite - my Lenovo legion laptop, which has given me for excellent years of service. I'm going to upgrade to a newer model later this year and keep this one, install Linux on it, and make it a Linux-only machine for better privacy in using the Web.

Brave is still Chroium

And yet, it does a better job blocking YouTube ads than Firefox, without any add-ons.

Crypto, Ads

Those features are opt-in.

Yet another reason to use Brave, which has better native ad block than any of the other browsers.

Is it truly open-world? You can just go anywhere?

I've been thinking of trying it out.

DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — The Israeli military ordered more evacuations in southern Gaza early Sunday after a deadly airstrike on a school-turned-shelter in the north killed at least 80 Palestinians, according to local health authorities. Israel said it targeted a militant command post, killing 19 fighters.

If you stick someone in a canoe in the middle of the ocean, you've still committed murder when they drown. These so-called evacuation orders don't change the fact that Israel is committing genocide and running an apartheid state, with the help and backing of war criminals in the US government.

PARIS (AP) — French police have evacuated the area around the Eiffel Tower after a man was seen climbing the Paris landmark hours before the Olympics closing ceremony Sunday.

The shirtless man was seen scaling the 330-meter (1,083-foot) tall tower in the afternoon. It’s unclear where he began his ascent, but he was spotted just above the Olympic rings adorning the second section of the monument, just above the first viewing deck.

Kind of a dumb thing to do, but I hope he makes it and I admire his moxie.

Is there a good reason why journalists keep calling this "far-right disorder" instead of what it really is: Fascist Terrorism?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Monday shut down a long-shot push from Missouri to remove a gag order in former President Donald Trump’s hush-money case and delay his sentencing in New York.

The Missouri attorney general went to the high court with the unusual request to sue New York after the justices granted Trump broad immunity from prosecution in a separate case filed in Washington.

The order states that Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito would have allowed Republican Andrew Bailey to file the suit, though not grant his push to quickly lift the gag order and delay sentencing.

US stocks plunged on Monday morning as Friday’s dismal July jobs report continued stoking fears that the US economy is on shaky legs.

The Dow plunged 1,072 points, or 2.7%. The S&P 500 fell 4.1% and the Nasdaq Composite sank by a whopping 6.3%.

The Cboe Volatility Index, or VIX, which measures bets on expected stock market volatility, surged to 55. The last time the fear gauge hit that level outside of the pandemic was the Great Financial Crisis, in 2008.

On September 11, 2001, Genelle Guzman-McMillan made it from the 64th floor to the 13th floor of the North Tower when "everything went black." Over 27 hours later, she was miraculously pulled out of the wreckage.

Though I hate the overuse of the word 'miraculous', this is an interesting story for sure.

In a groundbreaking experiment, Japanese researchers transferred regenerative genes to fruit flies, leading to improved intestinal health and enhanced stem cell activity. This discovery opens new possibilities for anti-aging strategies in higher organisms, including humans, through targeted gene therapy.

I wanted to share this because it's just a fun departure away from all the doomscrolling. Enjoy!

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race for the White House on Sunday, ending his bid for reelection following a disastrous debate with Donald Trump that raised doubts about his fitness for office just four months before the election.

The decision comes after escalating pressure from Biden’s Democratic allies to step aside following the June 27 debate, in which the 81-year-old president trailed off, often gave nonsensical answers and failed to call out the former president’s many falsehoods. Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take on Trump, and encouraged his party to united behind her.
