Fediverse vs Disinformation

414 readers
64 users here now

Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.

Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.

What's the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.

By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.

In a functioning society, he would be kept in a safe, healthy environment where he could receive the care he needs and wouldn't be a danger to himself or others. However, the U.S. offers no alternative for those who need mental care and supervision other than a life on the streets or in politics.

The tl did read is that out of the six, one was a half truth, but with caveats.

Yep, it was 4 x FALSE, 1 x PANTS ON FIRE, 1 x HALF TRUE

I guess 1/2 out of 6 is about the accuracy we have come to expect from conspiracy theorist RFK Jr lol.
