It’s even worse than that.

It’s like he bought another kids lemonade stand while claiming the other kid was pissing in the jug to make it look like they had more.

Then pissing in the jug in full view of everyone else to make it look like he had more.

And then tried to sue passers by for not buying his piss filled lemonade.

Piss being bots and spam accounts, and the passers buy being advertisers who want actual engagement from users.

You didn't even need the last paragraph, it was already clear who was who or what was what. I wouldn't be surprised if this really happened, exactly how you wrote it.

[–] megopie@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He absolutely talked about the sites numbers being artificially high due to bots when he was buying it, even tried to use it to get out of the legal obligation to buy it.

We’ve also seen his gutting of the moderation system cause a huge influx of bots and bot interactions, not to mention other stuff that advertisers don’t want their ads to be next to.

Like he really has played him self and is having a temper tantrum at having to face the consequences of his own actions.

even tried to use it to get out of the legal obligation

Maybe he should have done something we call "due diligence" instead of explicitly signing a waiver for that responsibility.

Why is it always piss with these guys man. Why can’t they just enjoy being pissed on in peace in the privacy of their own homes instead of coming out and pissing over all and sundry

[–] Cornelius_Wangenheim@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Also the lemonade is now being served from a toilet bowl full of Nazis.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 3 points 1 month ago

Wait.

Does banning API access actually make viewership of ads worse because users/botters now have to parse webpages directly, and therefore load ads without viewing them?

[–] VelvetStorm@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

At this point, it's pissade and not lemonade

[–] MTK@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Honestly, I thought this was some real story about his childhood

[–] barsquid@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

The real story is apartheid emerald mining so pissing in lemonade would be weird but a step up.

needs more Fridge Shaped Body

I wonder what it would take for Musk to consider not shitting where he eats.

[–] kamenlady@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

He wasn't educated with those things in mind. His father is even worse. He might have never heard the good advice "don't shit where you eat".

[–] beefbot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 month ago

Joke’s on you, he doesn’t know that shit and food don’t mix

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago

This is a little biased. You left out his opening offer:

“Go fuck yourself!”

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

This is not the lemon party I remember.

[–] joshcodes@programming.dev 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Help, I just woke up. What does this relate to?

Well, he's deranged. There's some terrifying repercussions for the US if he manages to win. You shouldn't even be able to suggest someone legally has to buy a product or service

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Yes, but America is the country where the companies have more rights than the people and there's a long history of monopoly-preserving legislation.

It's the country where margarine wasn't allowed to be yellow to preserve butter sales. It's the country where food wasn't allowed to be labelled free from genetically modified ingredients to protect monsanto's RoundUp profits (because consumers who knew which was which tended to buy non GM foods).

It's the country where an individual person can't donate more than $3,300 to a candidate in total over two years, and it would be an illegal bribe to give that in return for a policy but Elon Musk can quite legally make his corporate entities donate $45,000,000 every month in return for a policy shift on Tesla cars.

Your "that would give corporations a crazy and dystopian amount of power and control" doesn't cut a lot of mustard in the USA

[–] joshcodes@programming.dev 2 points 1 month ago

Unfortunately there is a huge difference between shouldn't and wouldn't. I really hope in this case they don't. But yeah, american consumer law is a strange and stupid place. I'm more and more appreciative I don't live there every day.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Musk is doing dumb shit again. Welcome to a day ending in y.

[–] NONE_dc@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Can someone clarify for me if it is me or Elon who does not understand capitalism? Because, can you really sue someone for not wanting to buy what you sell? What about the free market? What about supply and demand?

[–] TimLovesTech@badatbeing.social 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He also told advertisers to "fuck off " when they complained that the platform being a toxic Nazi cess pool was not something they wanted to buy advertising on.

[–] NONE_dc@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

"Fuck Off! but if you don't give me money, I'm going to shit myself and throw the shit at you!"

[–] Katana314@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I think the closest thing would be discrimination lawsuits?

Like, let’s say that a black guy runs a transport company in a rural, very racist state. He receives positive reviews for his service, but none of the 5 or so clients in his area will do business with him - meanwhile sub clients of those businesses actually wish he was the one working with them. He might have a case to say these business owners colluded to deny him a market in an unfair way - and that it was not just based around their “right to choose who they do business with”.

Of course, the history of Twitter has far, far more personal blame to it than the story of a black business owner facing racial discrimination. Just thinking about what general angle his lawyers may try in court.

[–] AshMan85@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Pretty sure he was bald then lol

[–] rashadgasimli@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago
[–] henfredemars@infosec.pub 1 points 1 month ago

Bold to suggest he'd work even that much.

[–] Martinphipps@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is X here pronounced like a Z or an Sh?

[–] Noodle07@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's pronounced "twitter". I know English is confusing

[–] Martinphipps@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

You have xit for brains.

I take my lemonade the way the Brazilians do

By just dumping the whole ass fucking lemon in there with some condensed milk and ice to chill it!

(Yes I know Limonada uses lime but I like lemons ok!‽)

[–] blaue_Fledermaus@mstdn.io 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm from Brazil and I've never seen this recipe. Probably some regional thing, Brazil is huge.
