Today, the Biden-Harris Administration is proposing a new rule to significantly expand coverage of anti-obesity medications for Americans with Medicare and Medicaid. Tens of millions of Americans struggle with obesity. An estimated 42 percent of the U.S. population has obesity, which is now widely recognized as a chronic disease, with increased risk of all-cause mortality and multiple related comorbidities such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, some cancers, and more.

Hello, I'm interested into some good casula shooter's that work on linux. My only requirement is that they shouldn't EVER have to use an external launcher like ea ( have bf3 on steam and the ea launcher just doesn't wanna work ).

I played games like splitgate, halo infinite and battlebit remastered

A Dallas man says he feared for his life when a stranger approached him on a running trail and shot him multiple times. He says the man shot him in his hip and shoulder. But he says the man was aiming for his head. The Brief

The victim says this was a morning exercise routine turned into a random shooting.

35-year-old Terrance Williams says he was exercising on a trail in between Singing Hills and Glendale Parks in Oak Cliff last Monday when a stranger who asked him for directions on the trail the day before approached him again.

"He looked at me, and he said, ‘This is going to be the last day that you see me.’ And it was confusing, and I didn’t know what it meant," he recalled. "So I just said okay, and I kept walking.

Williams says it quickly turned even more bizarre.

"He kind of went behind the bushes, came out, went behind the bushes, came out again," he said. "And when he came out the second time, he had a mask pulled up over his face, covering half of his face, with his hand in his left pocket. And that’s when he was like really briskly approaching me. But then he pulled out the gun, and I screamed and ran."

Williams was shot in his right hip. And while lying wounded on the ground, Williams thought his life was about to end.

"He stood over me. He put the gun out over my face. It was pointed in my face, and I was just looking up at him, and he said, ‘You’re not dead. Don’t pretend to be dead. But you’re going to be dead now,’" he recalled. "And like a headshot, just fired two shots. And I don’t know if it was the grace of God who curved the bullets, my guardian angel, I don’t know if it was bad aim. I don’t know what it was, but he had that gun pointed at my head. One bullet hit my shoulder, and the other bullet hit the pavement."

Williams says the shooter left.

Summary

U.S. health officials announced a new rule allowing kidney and liver transplants from HIV-positive donors to HIV-positive recipients, expanding beyond prior research-only limits.

Effective Wednesday, the change aims to increase the organ donor pool and shorten wait times for all patients.

Research, including a New England Journal of Medicine study, confirms the safety of these transplants, showing similar survival and rejection rates compared to non-HIV donors.

The practice, first proven safe in South Africa in 2010, has led to 500 such transplants in the U.S. since 2013.

If you're currently considering on buying a new Graphics Card (GPU) for your computer it's advised to hold for now as:

We strongly believe you should not buy a graphics card right now. This is because we're expecting the announcement of next gen GPUs in the first week of January 2025. This is when the consumer electronics show takes place in Las Vegas and during the show we expect NVIDIA to announce the Geforce RTX 50 series and AMD to announce RDNA 4 based GPUs. New graphics cards means the potential for new levels of performance at existing price points..and for improvements in price to performance at the very least and that could be anything from a minor gain to a modest gain based on the last couple of generations.

Again what this means is that customers who hold off on buying are more likely to have a larger window for better deals as the flood of newer GPUs should push the price of previous gen cards somewhat lower than the newest ones on the market.

Tim from Hardware Unboxed (in the primary vid I linked) does a great and thorough breakdown🤌 on the current price to performance comparisons that I would highly recommend watching whenever you get the chance to do so!~🫡

If you're new to buying PC components please be advised in that I would highly recommend watching some GPU performance comparisons (such as GN's 7900 GRE review and comparisons) as otherwise you might accidentally buy a new GPU but with the performance of the previous series for a higher cost :/

PlayStation Preservation Milestone

An Important Job for Garret Fredley

Recently, a PlayStation preservation expert named Garret Fredley has reached an impressive milestone: 500 terabytes (TB) of Sony’s gaming history have been safely stored.

Fredley shared this achievement on Twitter, writing:

"We have crossed the 500 TBs threshold of preserved PlayStation history at work🥳

It's weird to consider what half a petabyte looks like considering the size of modern AAA titles. It's an honour to preserve it all, but copying hundreds of millions of files is super slow

Objectives and Challenges

  • Preservation Practices: The PS Studios IP Preservation team, which Fredley oversees, focuses on establishing preservation practices for future titles and archiving past games as comprehensively as possible.

Relevance and Future Benefits

The work done by Fredley's team will be extremely important for future endeavours in the gaming industry:

  • Reduction of Loss: With readily available source code, artwork, and resources, reproducing or re-releasing games will become easier. This means a significant reduction in the risk of losing crucial game data.
  • Historical Significance: It also preserves historical data which could be invaluable for future research and development within the industry.

Given that Sony is now taking these steps, one might wonder if other major gaming companies are doing similar preservation efforts? Do you think Nintendo, Microsoft, or any other company should follow suit?

Summary

German federal prosecutors have charged four suspected Hamas members for sourcing and storing weapons in Europe.

The suspects, including two Lebanese-born men, an Egyptian, and a Dutch national, allegedly managed weapons depots in Bulgaria and Denmark, and attempted to locate another in Poland.

The weapons were reportedly intended for potential attacks on targets such as Jewish institutions, the Israeli embassy in Berlin, and Ramstein Air Base.

Separately, conservative political commentator and activist Robby Starbuck has been going after corporate DEI policies, calling out individual companies on the social media platform X. Several of those companies have subsequently announced that they are pulling back their initiatives, including Ford, Harley-Davidson, Lowe's and Tractor Supply.

But Walmart, which employs 1.6 million workers in the U.S., is the largest one to do so.
