I wish this person knew the difference between those dot-squiggles that appear between written thoughts.

Honestly, as someone who's a bit of a grammar elitist myself, this reads totally fine

A bit of a run on sentence, sure. But it reads like a casual verbal conversation, just with commas where the vocal pauses are

I tend to do the same thing, when chatting over text (using commas to indicate verbal phrasing)

I've scheduled messages to send as much as 12 months in advance just to make sure a Reddit moderator knows what i think of them

Most reddit mods are all losers on a powertrip. They may not all be 13 years old but they sure as hell act like it. Some of the smaller subreddits manage to find adults who aren't far-right radicals, those are alright but rare.

I know one guy in real life and considered him a friend. He ended up being sucked it and became like the rest. He banned me.

Subreddit doesn’t get taken over by right wing (racist/homophobic/ableist) mods or tankie mods challenge IMPOSSIBLE

[–] ByteOnBikes@slrpnk.net 1 points 3 months ago

How do you schedule messages? On Reddit or Lemmy.

11 years is nothing compared to my cs1.6 ban from when I was a teenager lol

[–] threelonmusketeers@sh.itjust.works 22 points 3 months ago (1 children)

That's ~20 years, for those who are curious.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 2 points 3 months ago

I was, and thank you.

10 years is a blink of an eye. I once drew fanart comics for a 2005 tv show fan forum. I posted my last ones in Twitter with little to no fanfare. When Twitter recently turned into X, I logged back in out of curiosity to find one reply... "do these have a homepage?". 19-ish years later I replied "yes", and in kind got back a "thanks".

I got my first comment on a City's Skyline map I made years ago just the other day. I forgot I even uploaded them.

… imagine holding a grudge for 11 years over an online ban…

Stop it, get some help

[–] BearOfaTime@lemm.ee 40 points 3 months ago

I admire the commitment, and the humor in it

[–] Peter_Arbeitsloser 31 points 3 months ago

But he held no grudge. Read the article.

[–] henfredemars@infosec.pub 23 points 3 months ago

Jonathan still owes me $.25 for a bag of Doritos on the field day in elementary school. I’ve never forgotten.

[–] FeelzGoodMan420@eviltoast.org 21 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It could have just been a joke on that guy's part. I doubt he actively was angry ablut it for 11 years constantly. That's just unrealistic lol.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 16 points 3 months ago

You'd both know the answer if you read the article lol

[–] BarbecueCowboy@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

We are defined by the things we feel mostly strongly about.

Fucking legend is what he is.

[–] afox@lemmy.world 13 points 3 months ago

I wish I was this dedicated to... Anything

[–] atrielienz@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (4 children)

I admire the dedication. Seems like a waste of time though. The account they were arguing with probably isn't even still in use. And even if it is, the argument probably isn't worth it.

[–] Twitches@lemm.ee 57 points 3 months ago

The article said he's basically only doing it for comedic purposes. It is funny.

[–] BearOfaTime@lemm.ee 40 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Waste of time?

He put it in his calendar for a reminder 11 years in the future.

Spent 5 minutes logging in and typing up his response.

Now we all benefit from it!

Isn't all of this just a big waste of time though?

Wow, Hirroo Onoda, nice name drop.

[–] threelonmusketeers@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

Funny, I just watched Onoda: 10,000 Nights in the Jungle a few weeks ago.

[–] JustZ@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Damn, there's a movie? Where can I find that?

I know the story from the Hardcore History podcast.

E: It's on Amazon Prime.
