You can't remake the delightfully, painfully corny emo mess that is the original.

I don't think that's the idea. A bit like Edgar Wright's upcoming Running Man, as well as his Barbarella, it is more a re-adaption of the original source material.

It's risky when the first attempt is so iconic but The Thing demonstrates that it's possible to pull this off.
