18 year old girl, legal citizen, pushes her 12 year old brother. No injuries.

ICE takes her from Lynn, MA to Cumberland county, ME, and she's under threat of deportation?

Deportation to where??

This isn't America. This is beyond alarming.

... legal citizen, ...

Legal status. Which I am sure they're talking about revoking because she's been "charged with a crime."

That is the plan. Even for people who are in the US legally, just charge them with a crime, and that legal status can be pulled and they can be deported. Maybe even to Gitmo in the near future.

ICE is Gestapo.

ICE is Gestapo.

Only charged? Not convicted yeah? Wow.

Key fact:

“It’s unusual for (ICE) to pick up an individual with legal status and not convicted of a crime. That usually doesn’t happen.”

Emphasis mine.

Edit: This is intended to reinforce your point for those who don't read the article.

... "usually doesn't happen."

The irony of the use of the qualifier "usually" is not lost on me.

This isn't America.

But it is. And it's just getting started!

Gotta watch those dangerous Latinas who push. What if they pushed the president? WHAT IF THEY PUSHED THE CONSTUTION?!?

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 25 points 3 months ago

Get in the gestapo's way every chance you get.

ICE didn't show up by magic. Someone called them.

[–] sik0fewl@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yes, it's right there in the article.

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm not seeing anywhere in the article where they identify someone calling ICE.

[–] sik0fewl@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Zeneyda Barrera, 18, originally from Nicaragua, was arrested by Lynn police after a neighbor complained about a noise disturbance around 4:30 a.m. on Monday.

I'm sure you're smart enough to guess who called ICE.

[–] Kbobabob@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (2 children)

News articles probably shouldn't leave things to assumption. Yes the ~~police~~ bastards probably did call ICE but that's not reported anywhere.

Reminds me of the saying . There are two types of people in the world: those who can extrapolate from incomplete data sets”

[–] sik0fewl@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 months ago

They probably didn't mention it in their press conference. It could have been the neighbour... but I doubt it.
