Immigrants are no longer welcome in Donald Trump’s America. Instead, the Republican presidential nominee posited that under his potential second administration, he would round up and mass-deport noncitizens based on their “serial numbers.”

Speaking with Full Measure’s Sharyl Attkisson, Trump argued that the United States—which was founded by and has historically been a nation of immigrants—shouldn’t be a “dumping ground” for newcomers.

One more fucking time for the Rubepublicans in the back:

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.

That is on the door step of our nation. This is who we should be, and the only way to build a stronger America for a stronger mankind.

Term and conditions were appended in 2019

“Give me your tired, your poor who can stand on their own two feet and who will not become a public charge,” Immigration Director Ken Cuccinelli said Tuesday morning during an interview with NPR.

When asked what he thinks America stands for, Cuccinelli said that the poem was referencing immigrants coming from Europe.

"Of course that poem was referring to people coming from Europe where they had class-based societies, people were considered wretched if they weren't in the right class"

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 28 points 1 month ago

What an ass. It wasn't the high class Europeans that were coming here to get a fresh start.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago

There was a Facebook meme of the Statue of Liberty helping build Trump's wall. I was just like, have you fucking idiots never heard of Emma Lazarus?

[–] Death_Equity@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The illegals can't see what is on the welcome mat because they are hopping the fence in the backyard to eat our pets, rape our women, and hide the remote.

Republican response probably.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Hide the remote! That's over the line.

[–] Death_Equity@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

I heard from one of the gentlemen at my pickleball club that the illegals don't even tip their landlords. They are definitely sending up the worst of them.

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago (9 children)

And if they won't take that American belief than how about the Christian beliefs? Proverbs 19:17, Leviticus 19:33-34

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

hahaha Christian beliefs... hilarious. republicans are the last people who give a shit about the bible.

[–] MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world 30 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Can't wait for "ear tags" to be suggested.

[–] Death_Equity@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The big plastic tags they use for livestock.

This has reached the point where it feels wrong to be joking with it. It's like he's not ever trying to hide it

Naw just tattoos on their arms. Why mess with the classics.

/s /s just in case some numpty thinks this is a good idea

[–] norimee@lemmy.world 81 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Oh, I know! Tattoo them on their forearms and maybe they could wear some kind of sign on their clothing. Wouldn't that be neat.

[–] pachrist@lemmy.world 34 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Maybe a little, gold sombrero on an armband.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 12 points 1 month ago

Hey hey hey let's not just assume they're all Mexican! Let's just make a brown smiley face patch so we can include everyone they'll be deporting.

:(

[–] dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 32 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's positively inführeating.

[–] pachrist@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

It's göring to come back and bite them.

They say history repeats itself, but I thought we were kinda over the holocaust thing for a few more centuries.

[–] billiam0202@lemmy.world 47 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Well, there's a war in Europe, we had a global pandemic, and fascism is on the rise, so we're just doing an early 20th century rerun.

Of course, history doesn't exactly rhyme, which is why Israel is the one doing the holocausting this time.

[–] ravhall@discuss.online 8 points 1 month ago

You would think they, of all people would know better.

[–] Death_Equity@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago (4 children)

You are far too optimistic a person. They forced sterilized 25-50% of Native American women in the 60s and 70s who sought medical treatment or care, some were pre-teen. Native American women are still far more likely to be sterilized and at younger ages than non-natives.

Hey I've seen this before

This is Reich up the 1940's playbook

[–] Infynis@midwest.social 32 points 1 month ago (1 children)

His running mate also mentioned he doesn't care if they're legal or not

[–] AI_toothbrush@lemmy.zip 29 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This is why you study history. Next theyre gonna say they want to deport the immigrants to madagascar...

[–] pumpkinseedoil@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 month ago

Then they have a conference where they figure out a Endlösung for the Migrantenfrage (the Nazis discussed three major options: simply deporting them, creating an own state for them somewhere in Africa, and killing them all)

"Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"[12]

Trump and many of his supporters are bigots: it's that simple.

[–] Blackout@fedia.io 28 points 1 month ago (4 children)

I swear he's just playing into the Christians belief in an antichrist so he gets their support in destroying the world and bringing back white Jesus with the cum gutter abs

At work, an old guy was telling me a bunch of really important bits so I started taking notes on my hand because I forgot my notebook. He immediately stopped and said to never do that to my skin. I forgot his actual words but it wasn't a religious tone at all. It turns out his parents had been in concentration camps.

[–] TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Misleading headline. He said they know their serial numbers. Which means they already have them. Which is worse.

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The worse part is him wanting to ban the media from covering it so people won’t complain

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Headline is misleading. Based on his statements, Trump thinks they already have serial numbers.

[–] norimee@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

Doesn't really make it better...

[–] Zink@programming.dev 18 points 1 month ago

Fox News for the next month if Harris said anything close to this:

[–] AtomicHotSauce@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago (3 children)

They always seem to forget that every white person in the U.S. has immigrants in their family history.

[–] norimee@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Oh, but you said it already. WHITE is the defining difference here. Thats the "Herrenrasse" and brown is "Untermensch".

Every good Nazi knows that.

It has been a dumping ground for immigrants for a long time. The British used to send their convicts, that didn’t make the cut for hanging but they surely didn’t want in “their” country, here to be slaves.

Not many people know that between 1718 and 1775 over 52,000 convicts were transported from the British Isles to America, mainly to Maryland and Virginia, to be sold as slaves to the highest bidder. —The History Press

[–] ThePantser@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If he is elected it will immediately kick off WW3 and we won't be on the good side this time. Where are the time travelers to kill Hitler 2?

Camping outside golf courses.
