Elon still thinks of himself as a disaffected youth because it was probably the only time in his life he ever had any friends. Surrounded by sycophants they just reinforce what ever elon thinks cause they don't give a shit about him only that their checks get signed.

He is the quintessential elitist who has never had real struggles, nor had any really meaningful life experiences.

Yeah the only way to kill a troll is to... just stop talking to/about them. They feed off the negativity of others - Elon likes it when people increase the stock price of his company, and allow him to sell the userbase to advertising firms, so every single word of this just makes the Musk all that much stronger. Every. Single. Word.
This only works if everybody follows that rule.
In real life, some of this shit gain critical mass, and afterward, ignoring it would give it even more platform by leaving it uncontested.
First off, Elon isn't the guy who goes on Lemmy repeating clichés he's heard and accepted as fact without ever questioning.. is it even true? Or applicable? Sorry, but I think I'll go with Mark Twain and Voltaire on this one: the best way to deal with a narcissist is to let the air out of their ego and slam them with satire, exposing them for the idiots they actually are.
Elon isn't going to disappear just because you dare not speak his name. He's far too busy blowing up billions of dollars of taxpayer money while his mindless fanboys gargle musk and cheer.

Trump didn't want to win in 2016. His whole candidacy was basically a shit post gone awry, and that was so expensive that it may still cost us democracy in the US.

TBF again, he probably could have sold it again and not lost himself and other investors so much money. He still has a hero complex, it is part of his stupidity.
I mean, he couldhave sold it......but he bought it for 43 BILLION dollars.
Prior to the sale, twitter was losing money. It had never been profitable. And it was NEVER worth 43 BILLION dollars.
Sure, he could sell it for 30 million dollars, but what sense does that make?
The fact of it is, he'll likely never recover the costs he paid, because of the stupid high price he paid for a never profitable company.
The part that baffles me is......why haven't the userbase flooded outwards? If you're on twitter today, and you're not on bluesky/mastodon, you have nooooooooo right to complain that musk is supporting a facist agenda.
He is. I'm not denying that. I'm just saying twitter users have no right to complain about it, because they enable it.

He's act kinda resembles a guy who would have had a burnout, but keeps going with amphetamine. Not sleeping at nights, unable to concentrate, arbitrary snap decisions, slowly loosing sanity, illusions of grandeur, common ideological ground with Trump, etc. Decade of that and he'll be Trump.

Born outside the USA, so Elon can't run for president.
His goal is but another amendment away.
Not yet, but he's already eyeing a role in government. Wouldn't surprise me if he eventually manipulated Trump into creating a special class of immigrant citizens who receive naturalization because of "service to the nation" granted by the president or some such.
Wasn't he on some sort of advisory committee during Trump's first term? My memory is that they disbanded basically because it was a waste of time, for obvious reasons. Let me search...
