/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable, neither is supporting people who actively want to kill those groups. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.

There were multiple weddings that day. That was from a prior ceremony for bit players that weren't important to the story.

They already had the room, catering, and band set up. Why waste the opportunity. Most efficient.

[–] this_1_is_mine@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

They tried to sweep up the rice between weddings to reuse it and throw it again. But it didnt matter to get all of it up until later just to save time on fully cleaning the whole hall until it would be used as the mess hall later. Which saved even more time since they didn't need to bring any more for the rice pudding for desert.

That's just standard federation floor rice.

Useful for absorbing excess moisture the environmental controls miss.

For when you get your spaceship wet

It's amazing what you can get away with when you're broadcasting at 480i

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The screenshot didn't upscale very well, but it got the job done. Go figure, using tape instead of film would result in this choppy mess. Friggin' cheap ass Paramount.

To be clear, I wasn't criticizing your picture. It's got lots of pixels and stuff. It was more a comment on the set design/maintenance corners that were cut because "no one will see that at 480i resolution. Now we've got 1080 remasters and allllll kinds of stuff are being revealed lol.

I got ya, just me being overly self critical. All good.

It's a good thing Voyager didn't have any members of that bird race Paul F. Thompkins plays on Lower Decks. They might eat that rice and explode.

Ooh, that is a bird PFT, if I ever saw one. It's uncanny.

[–] SGG@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It was obviously a temporal anomaly.

Or each grain of rice is a Q, just paying a visit. An ensign tried to vacuum up the rice before the ceremony and was turned into a bowl of petunias, so Janeway took the hint and left the rice alone.

Oh no, not again...

What about the shot that made it into the final cut where Worf and someone are fighting and he knocks a hole in the set and it's just wood?

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] Chip_Rat@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Ah yes. Makes sence I didn't recall who he was fighting, just some simple tailor.

I was just watching that episode last week!
