Pretty on brand for Joe. He's never been funny, this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Joe has always been a talk show host who thought he was funny enough to be a comedian.

Personally I think he’s a terrible interviewer. It always depended on the guest. Otherwise he’ll start talking about himself.

[–] LordGimp@lemm.ee 3 points 3 weeks ago

Hits the nail on the head. I liked that he had on fringe interesting people along side some comedians I liked on his podcasts. You'd go from Joey Diaz and Tom segura clowning on people to Paul stammets talking about mushroom wizardry. The only factor Joe brought was the platform. Joe Rogan was always the least interesting part of the Joe Rogan show.

True, but the analysis of Joe in the video is pretty funny.

I'll definitely be watching it when I get a minute. Joe Rogan is only funny when he's the joke.

[–] randomname01@feddit.nl 4 points 3 weeks ago

The creator of the video pointed out one good joke in the special, and sure enough - it’s about himself lol. So yeah, even when he manages to be funny on purpose he’s still the joke.

You just piqued my interest. I downloaded it so I can watch later.

It was worth it. I appreciate deadpan delivery. I recommend checking it out. Joe looks like a burnt-out husk.

I'm probably in the minority on Lemmy, but I really enjoyed his first stand-up show. At least I think it was the first. The one where he talks about astronauts, and the pyramids. It's hard to reconcile who he is now with who he was then.

Rogan and crew were funny until about 2014. The Rogan forums, Joe Show videos, early podcasts and interviews were unlike anything out there.

[–] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 20 points 3 weeks ago

Oof. That was rough. Six years, Joe?

Probably all that “anything but the vaccine” that he took

[–] blindbunny@lemmy.ml 19 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

So embarrassing that I used to like this dummy.

Shame/embarrassment is a sign of personal growth; embrace it!

It was real bad, but it wasn't "Brendan Schaub" bad

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 14 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Brendan Schaub is referenced.

[–] HoustonHenry@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I was cool with not watching it, I like my braincells right where they're at (so they can't get away 😁)

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 13 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I had no interest in watching it either, but I like The Majority Report and Sam Seder mentioned this video and I really enjoyed it.

Plus, anything that does a decent job of telling people how much Joe Rogan sucks is good with me.

[–] HoustonHenry@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Well, once you put it like that I'll go ahead and spin it upwhen I get a little time

[–] midnight_puker@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Brace yourself. It's a train wreck.

[–] HoustonHenry@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

I will just have to remember him as the lovable handyman back on NewsRadio, it's been a bizarre career path for him

[–] quoll@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 3 weeks ago

that was really good.

but now the algorithm is feeding me an endless stream of his ugly fucking head.

[–] 2pt_perversion@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

Whoa this youtube doc about his special is hilarious though. At least something good came out of it.

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

I've never watched this guy and I never thought he was either intelligent nor interesting. Everything I've seen shows that he's actually kind of dumb, although there are people out there that are considerably dumber. Like that stupid kid, what's his name, the one that bought Trump a Cybeer Rust. So that said.

If on a scale from 1 to 10 he was normally around a 5, where is this special wazzit at?
