I hope Mr Trump can handle this news. He's really old and all.

[–] marine_mustang@sh.itjust.works 40 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Don’t you think he looks tired?

It's going to depend on the day. It's going to have to be a day where the dementia lets up enough that he can comprehend what's going on.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 53 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Luntz said there was no good news for the former president in his newest round of focus groups, with many of the participants admitting they were excited to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and that they were appalled by Vance.

"They are tired of Trump's abuse and of Trump's personality,"

After a while, the hate, the fear, the racist remarks, it gets old. Just like him. OLD. It's gone on for what 12 years? He hasn't learned anything new because you can't teach and OLD dog new tricks. People are tired of his bullshit and that's what it is, bullshit. Even his dedicated cult has to realize he just spews lies. He never does what he says he's going to do and now his rants are off the rails and that's because......He's old. Dementia DonOLD the weird racist rapist with 34 felonies is just old and tired. He should drop out and seek treatment.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He wants to pardon himself. I'm amazed he didn't before leaving office. But anyway Vance has no chance and Trump likely knows it. His best chance is himself.

[–] InternetUser2012@lemmy.today 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He has to win or he's fucked. He's seeing the writing on the wall though, which is why they're already working on a rigged election

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

They've been working on a rigged election for at least 6 years.

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 13 points 3 months ago (2 children)

8 years I've been wondering when people are gonna finally get sick of this clown and it finally seems to be happening.

This is a much needed course correction. I think we've now branched off of the Darkest Timeline and are doing our own thing now.

Wait until after the votes are certified to be conclusive.

[–] jhymesba@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

And go out and vote as soon as you can. Make sure you know your registration deadline date and check specifically around that date to stop the Trump ratfucking attempts.

And Ukraine starts to get the funding it needs, seems like a decade is what's needed to change things.

[–] Rapidcreek@lemmy.world 50 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The real big problem for Republicans is that Trump is pulling down the Republican down ballot.

It's ok. They don't read much.

[–] Rapidcreek@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Pretty sure they know. I'll post this...https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/video/new-senate-polls-show-gains-for-most-democrats-in-battleground-states-217259077922

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 12 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The best part is the more that you tell Trump to do something that he doesn't want to do, the harder he's going to resist and with him being so desperate, the worst he'll do. So keep telling him you should quit. He's never going to win, he's a loser.

[–] Rapidcreek@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

At 78, there's nothing new but a hip.

[–] ristoril_zip@lemmy.zip 23 points 3 months ago (3 children)

If (hopefully when) Trump loses he now has the perfect scapegoat though: Just Dance Vance

[–] KevonLooney@lemm.ee 14 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I will ask you to leave Jorkin Depeanus Vance alone, thanks.

[–] BlueLineBae@midwest.social 10 points 3 months ago

JD Vance puts his cast iron in the dishwasher pass it on

[–] MagicShel@programming.dev 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

That will sink Vance for good and save Trump face, but all those indictments don't care about face.

[–] 5C5C5C@programming.dev 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yeah this election is do or die for Trump and I'm sure he knows it. He'll probably make good to flee to Russia if he loses and whatever coup attempt he makes doesn't pan out.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I wouldn't bet on that if I were him. Putin is in a precarious position himself, and if he sees it beneficial to sacrifice trump saying "I caught the American pig!" As an out for his failed war, then trump is going to go in a really bad way. Trump would be best served by going to a fringe dictatorship like NK, SA or venezuela, maybe even Iran. But Russia is not a safe place for him or anybody.

[–] 5C5C5C@programming.dev 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Iran wants revenge on Trump for assassinating their favorite general, right-hand man of their Supreme Leader. If he goes to Iran he'll for sure be tortured and then executed.

Also I wouldn't suggest that Russia is safe for anybody. If anything I expect Trump to go there because they have the most kompromat on him, and they'll extort him into coming so they can use him as leverage. At that point you may be right that Putin would hand him over to serve Putin's own interest. But if Trump makes any other choice he'll probably end up drinking some polonium coke.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

You're right, I forgot that about Iran. Point is, he doesn't have a lot of options. But Russia isn't a great one for him, especially when putins war isn't doing well.

[–] 5C5C5C@programming.dev 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I think the happy conclusion here is that Trump is screwed if he doesn't win this election. Now let's make sure he doesn't win.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

It's a stacked deck.

[–] Moobythegoldensock@lemm.ee 19 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Nonsense, Trump and Vance are doing great. They should run again in 2028.

[–] InternetUser2012@lemmy.today 2 points 3 months ago

Dementia DonOLD will either be dead, in jail, or in a memory care section of a nursing home by then.
