Just flag Twitter as a hate platform and delist them?

Let Musky deal with explaining why it isn't and beg, like how Apple set his stupid ass straight.

In 2022...

Musk launched a provocative Twitter tirade against Apple, and its CEO. Musk claimed that Apple had withdrawn most of its advertising and was threatening to block the platform from its mobile store where iPhone users download apps. Musk said the move was an act to undermine free speech.

Tim cook invited him to their campus. And let's just say Musk learned at that moment to stfu.

musk...said they "resolved the misunderstanding" over Twitter possibly being removed from the App Store. "Tim was clear that Apple never considered doing so," Musk tweeted.

Sounds like the other way around to me...

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Yeah I remember reading at the time that they basically kissed and made up; Musk actually interacted with Tim like a human and was snapped out of his weird manic fit, and Tim told him they were still advertising. That's it.

Funny how quickly an invitation and a face-to-face meeting can have keyboard warriors on their heels.

In my head, it was Apple going, "Twitter is a fucking ant in this game and I will curb stomp you. You understand me you little piece of shit?"

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's a nice daydream, but almost definitely nothing even close to that happened.

[–] frazorth@feddit.uk 1 points 1 month ago

According to Musk?

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I assume Twitter or X now is still on the app store?

[–] FarraigePlaisteach@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago (2 children)

And direct everyone to the Fediverse. All government officials should have their primary accounts there.

[–] SirNameHere@lemmy.world 25 points 1 month ago

They should be running their own server where they have complete control over the content. I hate that public entities rely so much on third party services when their own websites get neglected. Like, I went to your website for info, but then find I have to go to Twitter or FB or whatever to find updates. And then Musk rat has a fit in the K hole and blocks stuff or tweaks the interface to mess shit up somehow and poof, it's gone until he wakes up one of his engineers to fix it.

I find it baffling that most are not maintaining both mastodon and threads accounts.

[–] Rustywhims@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Honestly this is the best answer. Kill his dying platform.

[–] PriorityMotif@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

He bought it for the large natural language dataset and also to help kill it for non democratic nations.

[–] morphballganon@lemmy.world 61 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Well, he won't. Cops answer to billionaires.

[–] MrVilliam@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

But also, cops like having an excuse to violently punish their comrades. So they're happy with whoever gave them that excuse, billionaire or not.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Cops are also incredibly lazy. And Elon isn't within arm's reach.

[–] NegativeInf@lemmy.world 41 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Did he make cybertrucks "bulletproof" so no one would shoot him in his rat face?

Perhaps these billionaires wouldn't have to prep for the apocalypse if they stopped trying to cause one!

[–] Gork@lemm.ee 16 points 1 month ago (2 children)

They are vulnerable to large metal sphere being casually chucked at the windows though.

[–] NegativeInf@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago

Targeted EMP. Locked inside a cage of his own making. Just let him sit in the sun. Or roll him into a lake.

[–] AlexWIWA@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

It can't even stop a low grain bullet from an AR-15, which is notably one of the most popular rounds in America. People buying these trucks are so gullible.

And why would I even care about a car being bullet proof? I want a spare tire.

[–] NotMyOldRedditName@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

that wouldn't even make sense since the glass was never "bulletproof" and if you're gonna hit him in the face, you gotta go through the glass.

[–] NegativeInf@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Hence my quotes.

[–] InternetUser2012@lemmy.today 34 points 1 month ago

I agree. The world needs more fuck around and found out among the rich bastards.

[–] octopus_ink@lemmy.ml 24 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Good thing it's the UK here. We know what happens to rich people who incite riots in the US. Nothing.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 33 points 1 month ago

Thats not true. They get to run for president.

[–] riodoro1@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

But we are not arresting rich guys.

[–] Noodle07@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

It's against their laws

[–] harcesz@szmer.info 18 points 1 month ago

Could we, maybe, just have him arrested anyway, just in case?

[–] PanArab@lemm.ee 5 points 1 month ago

He is promoting the pogroms

[–] fossilesque@mander.xyz 5 points 1 month ago

He's using it to keep activity up on Twitter lol. Giving him the time of day is bad for the mental health

[–] doodledup@lemmy.world -4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Why do we even give him this attention? This news is completely irrelevant. He just wants attention to fuel engagement on his Twitter baby...

[–] sandbox@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Holding wealthy people accountable for their actions is a rare thing, worth treasuring and celebrating, even when it’s just talk. I hope we can all pray that Elon Musk is brought to justice soon.

Permanently.
