Because of course you would

All this “yeah who cares if someone’s literally dying, the ambulance can wait until after I’m done speaking” is a sign of how truly unhinged a lot of the people who have made their way into the higher echelons of our society are

[–] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 40 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Exactly. I think Tim is great for many reasons, but it’s truly sad commentary on the state of our society that we’re recognizing someone for just being decent.

Sounds like that Travis Scott dickhead musician a year or two ago.

I caught it live, and he put the speech on pause for way, way longer than I expected. He waited until help was fully on the scene and the person was under recovery before going on, even pointing to other people in the crowd needing water.

Dude is too beautiful for this world.

[–] harrys_balzac@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 1 month ago

I had started watching it about 2 minutes before it happened. I was very impressed by his handling of it.

[–] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

But did he throw paper towels at them?

Donald Trump Shared a Hilarious Story About Not Wanting to Help a Dying Man

To be fair, I wouldn’t want Donald Trump touching me even if I was dying, either.

All joking aside - there will never be an article describing something he did that wasn’t just the most absolute terrible thing that a human could do.

[–] JustZ@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I'd use my last breath to tell him to fuck himself. That people don't throw shoes at him everywhere he goes absolutely stuns me.

[–] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 74 points 1 month ago (1 children)

My bet: Fox News will take the clip of him being silent looking off to the side for like 20 seconds (to see if the woman is okay), play it without context and ask questions of whether he is old, senile and losing cognitive capacity.

"Weak Walz trails off completely during campaign rally, is he even worse than Sleepy Joe?"

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago

Or that it was staged so he could look compassionate.

[–] sarcasticsunrise@lemmy.world 69 points 1 month ago

The Tim Walz VP get was such a W. Kamala's campaign was already blazing hot, adding Coach Walz is genius level 5d chess. Trump and Vance have nothing, right wing media "talent" are filling their diapers.. it's glorious

[–] jprice@kbin.run 44 points 1 month ago

In two different rallies there were at least three people who needed medical attention. People were way excited for these candidates. I think even Whitmer had to take a moment to get help for someone. There’s a lot of great energy from the crowds. The republicans are scared as fuck. It’s great.

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 39 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Contrast this to Trump being more concerned about the blood soaking in to his marble floors than about the health of the guy who fell off his stage and cracked his head open

Anyone remember Highlights magazine? This is a fucking Goofus vs Gallant election.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Except for the ones where Gallant wasn't so much being virtuous as just obedient to authority. Which was a lot of them.

I get and agree with your point, though: Walz is the polar opposite of the Mango Mussolini and the couch fucker when it comes to caring about and for fellow humans

[–] CyanFen@lemmy.one 30 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The title scared me for a second until I finished reading it

[–] spaghetti_hitchens@kbin.run 27 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Tim Walz saw me doing yard work in the heat, so he picked up the weedeater and did the edging to help me get done faster

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

So he was edging and you finished faster? Hawt!

..I'm sorry, couldn't help myself 😁

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 5 points 1 month ago

I can't tell if this is a joke or not lol this dude seems so legit that I kinda believe you.

[–] odelik@lemmy.today 27 points 1 month ago

Such a cool dad move.

[–] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I thought he spotted somebody whose car was burning oil and stepped in to get their filter changed.

[–] JustZ@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Don't want to foul those piston rings.

[–] tills13@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

I hate how the bare minimum nowadays is news.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 month ago

Had this happened at a Vance speech, I would assume it was manufactured for headlines. But they'd never think of doing something like that because the only thing their minds can see is hate.
