I’m old enough to remember when that was every day. Now we gotta wait for Don-old to kick the bucket (from natural causes, obviously) to bring those days back.

I’m old enough to remember when that was every day.

I grew up in the 80s, and his name was constantly in the local news. Most of it about how exciting his new casinos were... or how he stiffed contractors... or how he ran the casinos into the ground. Something many of the adults at the time seem to have forgotten about completely. facepalm

[–] NABDad@lemmy.world 21 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I remember before the 2016 election I saw an interview of one of the contractors he stiffed. They were still pretty pissed about it and they said they'd never work for him again.

Of course, they said they were going to vote for him. Because he was a "businessman".

Morons.

"this guy lied to and grifted me but he did it so well!"

"That's the guy I want lying for me".

[–] rickyrigatoni@lemm.ee 9 points 1 month ago

I grew up in the 00's and I still had to listen to the news constantly telling us about how he got towns to kick people out of their homes so he could expand the parking lots for his casinos and hotels.

Trump not being in my local news is yet another wonderful aspect of growing up in Hawaiʻi. My exposure to him was in tabloid entertainment news where he still belongs.

Like anal prolapse?

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 month ago

The hamberders'll get him

Don-old - that's amazing. I am never disappointed with Lemmy's memes of the Big Orange Liar

[–] cybervseas@lemmy.world 34 points 1 month ago

Seriously they really are weird…

[–] MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca 33 points 1 month ago

Throw in the Muskrat please

We thought this after he lost the first time, but it will really take this second defeat to truly vanquish these foes

Even then, the kids will still be around to terrorize us for years, even decades to come.

[–] HowManyNimons@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Dungeon bosses like this one always have two health bars.

[–] finley@lemm.ee 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah, but you have to use a special weapon to kill them

Super not looking forward to Senator Eric Trump and Secretary of State Ivanka Trump. Don Jr might just do a shitty show on daily wire and complain about any woman who won't fuck him, which is most women but he doesn't understand that the company he keeps is already shallow enough to put up with him so his sample size of women who will fuck him is harshly skewed when compared to all women. Especially sad because he's already too old for that, but I'm thinking this will be when he's even older. This is the world I'm predicting in like 2033. Prove me wrong, America. Make all of these shady fucks irrelevant.

[–] finley@lemm.ee 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

I predict a different trajectory:

Ivanka/Jared will continue to avoid public life, remaining quietly evil in private. Don Jr. will have a quick and rabid rise on FoxNews.88, which will, inexplicably, take in and “blow” through millions of dollars monthly on “operating costs” right up until Don Jr.’s heart explodes on-air mid-rant, which then cuts to Kimberly Aluminum Foil just as her lips deflate into gigantic, leathery saddlebags. Neither are seen again. Nor missed.

Representative (because no way is he getting elected senator) Eric Trump’s helicopter crashes in Long Island Sound when he attempts to grab the controls from, who he believes are, LEGO minifigs flying the craft.

[–] KevonLooney@lemm.ee 3 points 1 month ago

I don't wish death on anyone, but this trajectory is actually sadly quite predictable. Ivanka seems smart enough to avoid negative press. Don Jr. clearly has a inferiority complex and wants to impress Dad. He even signs his name similarly. He's like a dumber Kendall Roy

Eric may never be a representative but the "death by heli / small airplane" is sadly common among rich people who can't be bothered sitting in traffic in a limousine.

Stop, I can only get so erect

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 month ago

So many phone calls gonna happen for erections lasting more than 4h if this guy loses.

[–] DogPeePoo@lemm.ee 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Look at that weird little Vince McMahon Jr.

What a weird little schmuck.

[–] theangryseal@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Holy crap, he does look just like him.

[–] DogPeePoo@lemm.ee 2 points 1 month ago

Mini-Vince 😭🤣

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

That's what I thought 4 years ago...

[–] NegativeInf@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Trump himself probably dreams of a day where he doesn't have to see his money grubbing progeny as well.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Well, 2 of the 3 pictured.

[–] NegativeInf@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

True. But I think Ivanka is getting a bit old for his tastes.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

Without the Epstein connection he might just need to lower his standards though.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Trump himself probably dreams of a day where he ~~doesn't have to see his money~~ grabbing progeny ~~as well~~.

Fixed it!

[–] irreticent@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

[...] while discussing the possibility of Ivanka's posing for Playboy magazine: "It would be really disappointing — not really — but it would depend on what's inside the magazine. I don't think Ivanka would do that, although she does have a very nice figure. I've said if Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her."

I think he only sees them in court.

[–] NegativeInf@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Didn't Trump Jr push him to choose JD "Undocumented Couch Fucker" Vance because of crypto?

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

OP isn't helping.

[–] ieatpwns@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You do know that most of their shit in my feeds comes from people not liking them, and posting their stupid stuff to show us how stupid they are. Negative advertising is still advertising.

Just ignore these assholes.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Were you able to ignore them from 2017-2021?

[–] wafflez@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Just like how America wanted to ignore Nazi Germany and stay out of conflict? No thanks. Discussion around conflicts is generally much more good for public awareness and education than promoting intollerance.

"If you ignore the bully they'll go away." - Boomer logic.

Prison would help, at least 20 years
