Wow two people who smoke weed like anime? That's crazy bro

[–] ZarkleFarkle@sh.itjust.works 46 points 3 months ago (1 children)

"Bro" is orb backwards. I love pondering orbs that can build up holy concepts.

[–] superkret 17 points 3 months ago (1 children)

"ponder" is rednop backwards.
I love my rednop bros.

Confidence and showing passion about stuff will get you a long ways

[–] li10@feddit.uk 70 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Best I can do is crippling anxiety and apathy for everything in life. Take it or leave it.

[–] lolrightythen@lemmy.world 16 points 3 months ago

Nice rizz, yo

[–] Chee_Koala@lemmy.world 12 points 3 months ago

Dr DontKnowKnothing advises to double down with deadpan humor. If nothing else, at least you'll see more smiles

You can market yourself as the brooding and mysterious type

[–] evidences@lemmy.world 24 points 3 months ago

Truth, I once got a girl's number because I was bitching about how much I hate pennies.

[–] CorrodedCranium@leminal.space 7 points 3 months ago

Totally. It's cool seeing what people are enthusiastic about

[–] mcteazy@sh.itjust.works 68 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I was taking a break on a hike a few weeks ago and a group of 3 girls and a guy passed me and the guy was narrating John Wick 4 scene by scene

[–] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.world 38 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Are you sure it was a hike, and not the girls just walking further and further to politely escape him?

[–] Uli@sopuli.xyz 18 points 3 months ago

No, he was their trainer and they were doing their best to keep up so they wouldn't miss any fight scenes.

[–] AFC1886VCC@reddthat.com 16 points 3 months ago (3 children)

No way. I once recited the entire script of an episode of Spongebob to some girls in a bar. Woke up the next morning with a girl in each arm and one across my lap. Girls love that shit. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

[–] MenacingPerson@lemm.ee 13 points 3 months ago

And then everyone clapped.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

That's nothing. I recited the entire Star Wars crawl from memory and now i'm the father of 16 children and I'm founding my own religion.

Wait, does John Wick 4 have a plot that would take more than 5min to narrate? I watched the first one and it was just like watching a twitch stream of a first person shooter. I assumed the others were similar.

[–] MindTraveller@lemmy.ca 17 points 3 months ago (2 children)

John Wick 4 has three protagonists, a fight between two teams of actual Japanese ninjas, a vehicular melee around the Arc de Triomphe set to Gesaffelstein, and a pistols at dawn duel.

[–] AlecSadler@sh.itjust.works 9 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

That vehicular melee scene was wild, must've been a bitch to shoot.

But that one-shot camera scene was superb.

[–] ChexMax@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Seems like you just covered most of it in about 10 seconds 🤷🏼‍♀️

If any of my younger friends ask, please tell them I totally understand what those words mean.

Translation:

I am very lucky that my partner has similar ideas and interests about urban transport infrastructure and policy as I do.

More of a appreciation for a dutch thing tbh

If I can save for it I wanna take them on a bike tour around Amsterdam some day, basically a whole vacation of cruising the bike lanes like we found an IRL mariokart track

[–] superkret 6 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

DON'T GO TO AMSTERDAM FOR THAT! Anywhere in the Netherlands is great for that, EXCEPT Amsterdam!
It's much closer to Mariokart than to cruising.

You should consider looking into a bike & barge trip. My parents have done a couple put together by a ski club that they're a part of, and it sounds like the kind of trip that you're talking about, only you wake up in a new place every day and bike ride to meet the barge further upriver at the end of the day. I know they do them in and out of Amsterdam, but my parents did one in the Loire River Valley and absolutely loved it.

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 53 points 3 months ago

At a dispensary? That probably helped his odds. Still impressive, though!

As in, swinging her legs back and forth over the ground, like pendulums, I believe.

It's when you're sitting down and swinging your legs backwards and forwards

[–] nickwitha_k@lemmy.sdf.org 17 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Not sure if it's culturally-specific but I think it's basically intended as a (likely involuntary) body language display showing interest and excitement. She is so engrossed in the explanation of Naruto (or the individual giving the explanation) that she is not paying attention to what her feet are doing. And what they are doing is acting as an outlet for her excitement.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I couldn't picture this without seeing her as either very very short or very very young. Don't grown ups feet reach the floor?

Naw she's a 100 year old vampire, it's cool

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 30 points 3 months ago

White boys got real problems recognising it's not their love of anime that repels love interests...

[–] Zannsolo@lemmy.world 19 points 3 months ago

He has clearly mastered talk no jutsu

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 14 points 3 months ago

You're in a dispensary so I'm not going to assume that normal standard necessarily apply.

[–] Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 7 points 3 months ago

Another reason I wish we had dispencaries in my country

[–] BigPapaE@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

Pro move: only explain right up to when Shippuden starts so they can watch it together

[–] ZarkleFarkle@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 months ago

These are the tactics I use on forums. I explain things and try to make people like me at the same time. XD
