Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

People are saying that donald has aphasia, he can't pronounce certain words, due to either old age or disease (syphilis). It's sad that the republicans have no one else to run for president. I'm hearing that he should step down as a candidate and get the help he needs.

Maybe hes caught RFKs brain worms

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 34 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

Maybe all conservatives have brain worms (could explain the powerful subconscious pull towards deworming medication).

They're the secret gift RFK was giving us all along. What a patriot.

[–] pineapplelover@lemm.ee 4 points 4 months ago

Well this sounds familiar, if only the name donald was replaced with some other presidential candidate.

[–] eran_morad@lemmy.world 81 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Thing is, he already had the racist vote locked up. This hurts his prospects, which is fantastic.

[–] worldwidewave@lemmy.world 30 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

At every opportunity to pivot and try to garner more of the undecided swing voters, he balks and throws red meat to the base.

That’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for 'em

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 months ago

Yeah completely dumping the narrative that getting shot changed him and now he's a super nice guy now was about the dumbest thing someone could do. That narrative gave people permission to think "sure Jan 6 happened last time, but he's different now and that won't happen again".

That could've gotten some undecided votes. But as soon as he's front of a crowd he's gotta go back to being the asshole that the base (who were going to vote for him no matter what) came to see.

[–] BreadstickNinja@lemmy.world 62 points 4 months ago (1 children)

To be fair, it probably doesn't matter whether he can say "Kamala" since he'll mainly be saying "President Harris" in the future.

[–] JimSamtanko@lemm.ee 17 points 4 months ago (1 children)

That’s a solid burn. Well done.

[–] humorlessrepost@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (3 children)

I enjoy the joke, but it’ll probably be more like “supposed president kalamata” or just “the usurper”. Did you know he invented that word, usurper? Etc.

[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 30 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I hate this man, and that's not a word I take lightly or use regularly, but damn if I'm not happy he at least didn't say "I could care less"

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 13 points 4 months ago

I haven't watched the clip, and won't, but I wouldn't be so sure the transcript is accurate. During the "Christians won't have to vote" thing there is debate that he either said he is Christian or he isn't. His speech is so poor journalists have to fill in a lot of words and often (inaccurately) correct what he said to be proper English.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 29 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I don't care if his VP pick actually fucked a couch either.

[–] PurpleTentacle@lemmy.world 14 points 4 months ago (1 children)

He certainly feels like the couch-fucking type.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 16 points 4 months ago

I'll take your word for it. I don't want to feel him.

That's a fair stance for someone senile with speech impediments

[–] Timecircleline@sh.itjust.works 22 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I'm so impressed he knows it's couldn't care less, rather than could care less.

My level of respect for him has not increased though

[–] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 months ago

His comprehension of idioms really is something I could care less about.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 15 points 4 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

But he's doing it on purpose. That means he does care, and he thinks it's funny.

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 15 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It's literally consonent-vowel-consonent-vowel-consonent-vowel.

Sure some names are hard to pronounce right. But this isn't one of them.

They only make themselves sound like idiots when they deliberately mispronounce her name.

I think it's that old Napoleon saying about "when your enemy is making a mistake, don't interrupt him."

[–] ChronosTriggerWarning@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I think it’s that old Napoleon saying about “when your enemy is making a mistake, don’t interrupt him.”

Toddler President strikes again

[–] Wytch@lemmy.zip 10 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Hey Donal, try pronouncing it this way:

"Madame President"

[–] humorlessrepost@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

If he called her madame, he’d instinctually open his mouth waiting for the stream.

[–] rickdg@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago

Tronald Dump so funny

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 5 points 4 months ago

So it ranks right up there with not caring about anything else that doesn't get you some attention. At least you're consistent.
