Fuck yeah!

I really hated complaining about Biden's action or lack thereof with Israel and Gaza, cuz most of the "genocide Joe" shit was just shooting for blue apathy... but god damn do I hate our tax dollars being funneled into a fucking genocide.

Trump would be 1000x worse, so I just kept my mouth shut most of time, but Kamala bringing some sense to this shit is MUCH needed, like right now!

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (2 children)

This was the way honestly. Worth writing letters to the White House & the campaign, but publicly… imagine helping the impeached felon* win shudder (at very little benefit to those being slaughtered and starved)

Kamala you better keep this promise!

*Edit: added “impeached” cuz felons in general can reform, an impeached felon though isn’t a good look

[–] circuitfarmer@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 3 months ago

the impeached felon*

Or to put it another way: to call him just a felon is actually a disservice to felons

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I mean, no need to imagine it, nobody was stopping you from voting for Biden (and Democrat down ticket).

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago

Ah, I mean imagine writing a comment dissing Biden and having someone vote for someone even worse. Pragmatism prevailed for me.

But any genocide enabler deserves max criticism one way or another, even if that’s pragmatically limited to private criticism.

Given Biden's support for Israel soured a lot of younger voters, this is a good strategy to potentially get them back

[–] worldwidewave@lemmy.world 29 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It’s really nice that the only “Never Kamala” people seem to have already been deep on team Trump.

There were plenty of (supposedly) Never Biden people who were saying they’d be staying home instead. Kamala puts all those people back into play. She could reasonably get back the Biden or maybe even the Obama coalition of voters.

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I would hope most of us who were saying never Biden would have voted down ballot. That was my plan. Harris is a new ballgame though.

I'm glad we don't need to consider this anymore, but this is just so foolish and short sighted. By abstaining, you would have been actively contributing to the imminent demise of the Palestinian people. If you care about human lives more than making a hollow political statement, you would have voted for Biden. Because the alternative will likely give Israel carte blanche to eradicate Palestine.

Like I'm glad people are finally aware of the situation there that has been ongoing for decades, but this presidential election is not the time to turn it into a deal breaker for so many reasons... The main being that Trump is, and I cannot stress this enough, sssoooooooooooo muuuuuccchhh wwoooooooorrrrrsssseee than Biden when it comes to Israel.

"Genocide Joe" idiots clearly could not care less about the lives of Palestinians. If they did, they would have been campaigning for Biden. Fucking clueless.

Stupid as it really is, she’s also immunized against bullshit because her husband is Jewish.

[–] doggle@lemmy.dbzer0.com -2 points 3 months ago (2 children)

If she wins do we call him the first man, or do we just call him the first Lady anyway?

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago

He's the Second Gentleman right now. So he'd be the First Gentleman.

[–] spaghetti_hitchens@kbin.run 2 points 3 months ago

I favor calling him the Prime Dude

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 32 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I have to say, this was a good speech. I'm pretty content with how she threaded the needle here.

Obligatory fuck Netanyahu.

[–] doggle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 30 points 3 months ago (2 children)

It's only an inch, but it's an inch further than we got from Biden

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

How much farther until we end the killings?

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social -1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

How many inches does it take to order a carrier battle group to blow every plane Israel owns out of the sky and start landing marines?

[–] blandfordforever@lemm.ee 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

A few more than you've got.

That's not true Biden did plenty of finger wagging. Even drew some imaginary red lines and called Netanyahu an asshole.

They just conveniently keep forgetting about the part where they withold the weapons for Genocide.

[–] usernamesAreTricky@lemmy.ml 27 points 3 months ago

In the past she had also wanted to be more vocal in previous speeches but it had seen it get watered down by the Biden administration. I think she will push for more than Biden ever did/will

[–] faizalr@kbin.run 24 points 3 months ago

A good point for a campaign.

[–] Doorbook@lemmy.world 11 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It is defiantly better than Biden and Trump but the expectation should be low.

However for, non-american, I just like to replace “Netanyahu” name with “hitler” just to have a better perspective and expectation.

“ Harris said. But, she said, she discussed with Hitler her “serious concern about the scale of human suffering in Gaza, including the death of far too many innocent civilians.”

Babies with two shots to the head is not “too many innocent civilians” it is a genocide and war crimes

“Israel’s response has killed 39,000 Palestinians, a significant proportion of them civilians, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.”

These numbers were early this year around march. What a lazy reporting, if not intentional washing war crimes and hiding facts.

“In her remarks, Harris reiterated the deal proposed by Biden that would ultimately lead to a permanent end to the fighting, the release of all Israeli hostages by Hamas, and a complete Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza.“

Yes, they are very clearly care about the hostages. They literally shot cars going back to gaza with hostages and shot hostages waving a white flags. Considering they also stole more of the west bank lands, they need to figure something better because there is no way these old term would work out.

“Vice President Harris has gone even a step further in taking a leadership role in condemning the horrific sexual violence that was perpetrated by Hamas,” said Halie Soifer, who served as national security adviser to Harris in the Senate and now runs the Jewish Democratic Council of America.” “I attended an event at the White House just last month where she was the leading voice from the White House in drawing attention to Hamas's use of rape as a weapon of war on that horrific day," Soifer said.”

Again more lies that has been debunk multiple time. People keep repeating it like it is the focal point instead of “ live genocide “ happening by “ USA tax money”

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

I'm surprised she brought it up at all to be honest. She doesn't have the power to do anything so I thought she'd just avoid the topic until after November.

Now let's see silence on the bank wire.

[–] dogsnest@lemmy.world -3 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Lip service is a start.
Better than deaf-mute.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 20 points 3 months ago

Can’t really do more than that unless/until she wins

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

She's not the president yet. She cannot take the actions that Biden could take.
