Bethesda, makers of Fallout 76, may be interested because to use that mod you've to own both Oblivion and Skyrim, making Skyblivion a great scheme to sell you two more games.

Everyone that wants to play oblivion in skyrims engine already bought the game.
I have no room to talk. My dumb ass bought both titles at least 3 times over, sooo I’ve given Bethesda/ZeniMax some bidness. I’m the problem.
Skyblivion would be my only reason to buy 76.

raises hand haven't bought either and I'm not gonna. Will play skyblivion, tho.
Did you play both of them?
Yes. Altho they're the sort of game I never finish. I play 10-20-30 hrs then I get bored and uninstall. But those first few hours are cool.
For people that just pirate the game Bethesda doesn't really care either way, they made plenty of money.
Am I wrong in thinking that the creative lead for the Oblivion Remaster might not actually be able to speak for Bethesda as a whole?
Why not? He's the development lead at Bethesda Game Studios who has worked there for 20 years.
Bethesda gave the Skyblivion team free Steam keys for the Remastered version. While I agree that we should apply skepticism, actions seem to demonstrate that Bethesda itself is cool with them, so I think it's probably appropriate for any one team member to speak on their behalf as a whole in this regard.
While you are absolutely correct in your skepticism, id like to add that multiple facets of Bethesda have both implicitly and explicitly either condoned or outright celebrated what the team is doing.
This project seems to not only just be on Bethesda's radar, but they view as a good thing.
as much as i don't like Bethesda's business decisions, this is pretty chill of them
Which version of Skyrim will Skyblivion require?
One that will be succeeded with a next gen update.
Probably Special Edition or above
Bethesda haters will see this and still say Bethesda purposely sabotages modders and other developers.
Aaaand you were proven right xD
But they do sometimes
