Summary

CNN data chief Harry Enten said Donald Trump is "already making history" for the wrong reasons as his approval rating hits new lows.

At 100 days into his second term, a CNN poll shows Trump's approval at 41%, lower than his 44% in 2017, which was already a record low.

“He has broken his own record for being the worst,” Enten said. On key issues like the economy, his approval is just 39%.

Enten described the numbers as “awful, awful, awful,” emphasizing the American public's growing dissatisfaction.

Who fucking cares? Dude's going to be shipping citizens off to indefinite detention with no due process at 2% approval. He's probably going to suspend the midterms or something. We are not going to just stroll out of this through normal processes.

I don't disagree with you for the most part, but this shit drives Trump insane. Attacking his vanity makes him even more erratic, but less effective. Public opinion still has value in this fight.

[–] ieatpillowtags@lemm.ee 6 points 1 day ago

In a normal world, “more erratic, less effective” is what you would expect to happen. Now that he’s packed his administration with ass kissing sycophants, they’ll just keep pretending that every crazy thing he says is 5D chess or whatever and follow his orders.

The chaos is the point, and he’s very effective at that.

he's gonna be polling at 3% and win a third term with 98% of the "vote" if we don't stop him

Too bad Trump doesn't care. He isn't trying to make the population happy. It's about control over us and taking away our freedoms.

You for real? Trump employs a woman who prints out all of the most flattering articles for him every single day. She’s an aide known as his “human printer.”

Man, what is it with boomers and printers? That whole industry is doomed when they're gone

I had a boss who wanted me to print the company website for him....gods, what a fossil, but he signed the paycheck so...

And polls like this will only make him vindictive and want to control us harder.

'If I get rid of the people that don't like me, my score will go up!'

[–] Goodmorningsunshine@lemmy.world 29 points 1 day ago (2 children)

How do you "expose" a goddamn poll?

Revealing negative [accurate] information to a narcissist often carries the risk of backlash, known colloquially as "narcissistic rage"

[–] vaguerant@fedia.io 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Jeffrey Toobin was pretty good at it.

[–] Tiger@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Oh that’s good, nice one!

So at what point are people going to stop caring about these pointless approval rating articles? The man's going for a third term with the Constitution in tatters, the rules are out the window. Approval is no longer required.

[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 day ago

Approval always matters, even in a dictatorship. If it didn't, the most autocratic governments would produce the least amounts of propaganda, and have the freest of free presses

Every leader ultimately rules by consent. Democracy just codifies a much simpler, much less violent process for granting or withholding that consent.
