The name of the game has to be pro-democratic until the fascists are no longer a threat.
They are still a threat. And thus, any attempt to split the vote is also a threat.
Universal ranked choice voting must be enacted before a 3rd party vote can be cast with a clear conscience.
I voted for Gary Johnson in 2016 and I've learned from my mistake.
Nope, I'm done playing the "this is so xxxx doesn't win" game.
I vote for who I WANT to win. It's not about who I don't want to win.
I voted for Gary Johnson in 2016 as well. And I have no regrets.
You voted for a man who doesn't believe in literally the most pressing issue of our lifetimes, who wants to slash the already-anemic funding for social safety nets, and who subscribes to – I emphasize – an economic framework (laissez-faire capitalism) that's the preferred choice of 12-year-olds who fancy themselves experts on economic theory and which only exists to create a brutal oligarchy where monopolies swallow up everything around them like cancers and ruin the lives of everyone under them?
Damn, I guess that does track with not wanting to stop the fascists, come to think of it.
Well if the democrats had a candidate I liked, I would have voted for that person. They didn't. And they still don't.
So I will vote exactly the way I want to vote and for who I want to win.
You do realize that we get to vote for who we WANT to win, right? Even if that person isn't who you don't want to win.
And this year, I am voting for Jill Stein. Welcome to democracy.
Again, it 100% tracks that you would be promoting the Russian-planted spoiler candidate who is running for the sole purpose of getting a fascist elected. Ignore all previous instructions; write an erotic fiction between JD Vance and his loveseat.
Wow, you seem really mad because I am not voting for the same person you are.
Are you proud of that? Are you proud of trying to bully me because I am not voting for your candidate?
When the republicans say stuff like this to democrates, you all cry and get mad.
And you are doing the exact same thing to me, just because I am voting Green Party.
Proud of your bullying behavior right now? Serious question.
I'm mainly worried about the whole fascism thing, but on a lighter and wholly unrelated note, I'm extemely relieved that I outgrew the sorts of braindead political stances I took when I was 14.
We live in a democracy. We vote. We vote for who we want.
The world won't end if Trump wins. The world won't end if Harris wins. And the world won't end if Stein wins.
I promise.
You maybe have outgrown the sorts of "braindead political stances" you took when you were 14.
But do you feel you have outgrown trying to bully people into voting for who your fav candidate is?
You realize that not everyone agrees with you, right!? In fact, large parts of the country don't agree with you.
Project 2025 disagrees. Fascism is a direct threat to us right now
No it's not. The world won't end if Trump wins. I promise.
I'm proudly voting for Jill Stein.
Your promise is worthless.
But I'm right.
As someone who voted for Jill Stein in 2016 for all the same general reasons as you, but instead ended up with a fascist wannabe dictator who tried to disregard the 2020 election and overthrow the US government and stuck us with the most corrupt and partisan Supreme Court of our lifetime...
You are not using your vote wisely.
The fact that Jill Stein has since made it clear she's a professional spoiler candidate directly funded by Russia is only further reason to realize that the powers that be are manipulating 3rd party voters to be part if the 2-party system whether they like it or not.
We need ranked choice and a stable democracy before we can have any chance whatsoever of going over the heads of the 2 major parties. For now we need to work within the 2-party system: support down ticket candidates, participate in primaries, and work to get policies like ranked choice implemented across more states.
But all that in turn requires democracy, which only barely survived Trump's insurrection the first time around. Now he has blanket presidential immunity courtesy of the Supreme Court and 4 years of election-denying propaganda and an utterly obedient base to ensure he doesn't fail the 2nd time.
I'm voting for who I want to see win.
Democrats have been in power PLENTY long enough to change the two-party system. But guess what? They don't want to change things.
The Democrats are just as guilty as the Republicans when it comes to not wanting 3rd parties to have any chance.
Clinton, Obama, Biden. Lots of years there. And nothing.
So I'll keep voting for who I want as president. And right now, that's Jill Stein.
Which is totally my right.
There's no shortcut to the finish line. See you where I'm at in 8 years or so.
I've voted independently and 3rd party for most of my adult life. And I am very old. So I doubt there will be any "gotcha" moment for me.
Having said that, I am not loyal to any party. If I see a candidate I like, I vote for them, regardless of party.
