Soooo... I don't think this bot should be used in general, but an objective improvement would be to only have it list a source at most one time per comment.

Bro I think somebody murdered a crab, took off its legs, and let it rot in a vat full of acid and raw sewage for two weeks before serving it to you.

Honestly, I would say a news agency like the Associated Press is really good for national and international news. I'll say that I really like The Atlantic, but that's more of a news magazine than a traditional newspaper. If you want a good mix with minimal sources, I would say Associated Press and The Guardian for national and international news; The Atlantic for political analysis; Mother Jones/ProPublica for investigative journalism; and a big newspaper in your state for statewide news (especially a major metropolitan area). Just off the top of my head, but those are ones I'd choose if I needed just a single source for those things.

If you want, I highly recommend creating an RSS feed for multiple sources. I only started using it in 2024, but it works great.

Sure, I agree there's a line as a FOSS contributor and user myself, but this is well past that line. By the time you start telling the maintainers of a FOSS project which you don't donate to (let alone one which is donationless), which has no income of any sort, which you have never worked on, and which you have no intention of ever working on that they're "stingy" for not spending their own money on testing your specific use case and to "get off their ass", you're well into "PRs welcome :)" territory, and there's a reasonable argument that they're even past that into "lol bye *ban*" territory.

Russia today is far-right by about every conceivable metric, so it makes sense.

Tankies don't actually care deep down about ideas like anti-imperialism or progressivism; they want control. That, or they're brainwashed enough to jump through layers upon layers of doublethink to reach the conclusion that an oligarchical, bigoted, and repressive oil state constantly and brutally invading its peaceful, democratic neighbors is secretly anti-imperialist and progressive but that this somehow gets tainted through the lens of muh westoid propaganda.

Ancoms fucking hate Russia. Democratic socialists fucking hate Russia. Everyone in their right mind fucking hates Russia.

I think it's important once in a blue moon to have these sorts of "What the fuck is actually wrong with you? We're volunteers" public shamings of people who actually act this disgustingly entitled to other people's work.

Kraven really let himself go.

I know it's easier if you try to classify things in terms of what you already understand, but you really shouldn't try to shoehorn the political factions of other countries into Republicans vs Democrats. It's really just going to impair your ability to actually understand what's going on.

(Linus is, incidentally, not a billionaire; he has a net worth of about $150 million.)

I know it's slow around here, but zero-effort AI slop can only make this community worse.

What else could this man be fabricating for us when he conveniently "forgets" to tell the Arkansas Army National Guard about this crucial and highly relevant work experience?

The other day I learned what a Luther burger is, and I wanted to see if anyone had made a vegan version.
