I've heard people say that they know it's unconstitutional and their goal is to get someone to sue over it and take it to SCOTUS so SCOTUS can rule in their favor and give them free reign to violate the 1st amendment all they want.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A Virginia Beach man who struck his ex-girlfriend around a dozen times in the head with a brick in an attempt to kill her will spend more than 20 years in prison.

63-year-old Bobby Randall Bland, formerly of the 4100 block of Front Royal Road in Virginia Beach, was sentenced on Monday after pleading guilty back in February to charges of malicious wounding, statutory burglary of building with the intent to commit rape/rob/murder/arson and assault and battery of a family member.

 

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY)– A man is seriously hurt after an auto-pedestrian incident in Norfolk Monday night.

According to police, the man was hit by a vehicle in the 2900 block of E Little Creek Road at 10 p.m. The man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The City of Virginia Beach, under the advisement of the Federal Highway Administration and Virginia Department of Transportation are now undertaking the process of completing an environmental impact study to fully analyze the scope and effects of extending Nimmo Parkway a mile and a half to Sandbridge Road.

 

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A former Virginia Beach businessman who is accused of sexual assault is on trial again, nearly six months after the original trial ended in a mistrial.

According to officials, Benjamin Young, the former owner of Hybrid Air Inc., was accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old former employee in August of 2022 when she came to pick-up a paycheck.
