A large trackball like the Kensington Expert can both move quickly across multiple 4K monitors and precisely point to a specific location.

By holding down a button, the trackball can also double as a scrollwheel.

The ergonomics don’t matter to me a lot because I don’t use it a lot. But I love the fast and precise movement.

As the trackball gets smaller, you have to choose between fast OR precise. Some smaller trackballs deal with that by having a toggle button so you can switch between fast or precise movements on the fly.

The post clarifies: It’s dial.

It clicks as you turn it left or right and it can also be pressed as button. Each click of turning it left or right or pressing it can all be bound any keyboard or mouse function.

Mime is set to scroll with page-up and page-down when turned

I agree. Getting a second keyboard to leave at the office is ideal. A second Moonlander would eliminate any context-switching cost, but if that's too pricey, the layout of the Ergodox is very similar and also supported for ZSA's tools. You can likely find a reasonably priced Ergodox used.

For a while, I had an Ergodox at home and one at work myself. Later, I switched to a Corne and then due to the pandemic, my work became 100% remote.

The whole spectrum: First a bought a pre-built board, then had a friend build one for me. Finally, I got over my fear of solder, bought the inexpensive equipment and gave it a tried. Made one $10 mistake on the first try and did a good-enough job on the second try.

I look forward to fixing more things now that I have this skill. I already used it to help repair an e-bike connector that came loose.

Yes, having a support group of people eating the same way helps. Everyone seems to have stories about their own friends and family that don’t get it even when they are on statins or have other health or weight problems.

I ran into the guy from the group this morning. He is in 60s and had just finished in the top 3 in his age group at a local 5k race.

I came in maybe 4th in my age group but I ran an extra 5 miles to get to the race.

Framework clarified they are looking for people who already own Frameworks and are already attending Linux events and happy to talk to people about their laptop. They’re not really asking people to do anything additional, but they will be giving them some free merchandise.

I’m part of a whole-foods plant-based potluck group. A number of people are eating that way to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight. Most people in the group are maintaining a healthy weight without any major exercise plan.

They really deliver.

I co-owned and worked at a small business and we tried unlimited PTO.

We had to add a two-week minimum clause because some people weren’t even taking that.

As an employee, I came to prefer a fixed amount that expired because it felt like it should all be used.

With unlimited, it seems some people who felt guilty or loyal or “busy” would take less while others who felt entitled would take more.

I'm looking for a simple sendmail replacement to receive local mail, such as from cron and service failures and forward it to on to a real SMTP server.

I have used msmtpd successfully but thought I'd ask if folks have other solutions they like.

And then I moved colon and semicolon to layers and re-assigned that outer pinky key to my rarely used AltGr key.
