I disagree, especially if it is news about an ongoing event with new information coming out. There actually is a rule about posting about ongoing events, but that aside; consolidating comments is valuable when new information is coming out so that the conversation going on can include the new information. Also, a mod cannot look into the future and know how many comments there will be made later.

Personally I like your guides, I come back to this community back here because they are easy to find here as opposed to the other communities they are (cross-)posted to. I don't use Reddit, so I am missing out of the conversation there. If there would be a website, I would likely to visit it every now and then to look for information.

At the same time, there are already other websites and it might not add any benefit. Personally I think I'd would be very interested in an 'interactive' version of your guides, but would be even more happy if this was integrated in another website that is already there. Also because if such a website is maintained by a small group of like-minded enthusiasts it is much more likely to survive the test of time.

With that said, you could take a look at the sites already and maybe see what might be missing there because they don't have your ideas implemented. They might not be interested in working with you but if they are I think you should give it a go. Looking at the images I think you have a good feeling for design and if you can develop as well they might be very interested in your skills (who knows). My favourite (and the only one I know by heart) is http://buy-european.net/ (the person behind that seems very active on Lemmy too), but there are at least one or two more you could try to reach out to.

Either way, if you choose to go this way you can consider me a 'customer'.

Why do you think that's pointless?

[–] huppakee@lemm.ee 4 points 1 day ago

Spain wouldn't be a primary target and if they would be in their national grid they would most likely hide there until they have a reason for using it (like put pressure or take revenge). Russia on the other hand has already been proven to sabotage stuff in the EU, their main goal being creating chaos and unrest. If it would be either of them, I think Russia is by far a more likely culprit. But let's not jump to conclusions too fast either. You are right China is capable of causing something like this.

It is really crazy to me that if you're from Hongkong, Tibet, Xinjiang Taiwan but you speak out about the situation there from Europe, you are most likely watched by secret service. EU should really put effort in protecting the freedom of speech of these people, and not let them be silenced by a nation.

But this, not only trying to silence them but also instigate personal dislike of them from people that have anti-immigration views, is really another level of oppression.

In that case there wasn't any democracy up until maybe 100 years ago (no clue what country first ticked all the boxes, or when)

Thanks, noted.

Gaza should be treated like any fascist state that throws rockets at its neighbor.

0 fucks given for actual people living there indeed. Wow.

I'm on your side, 95% of the way but I don't think it's fair to the victims in Japan, Vietnam, Palestine etc to be part of a ranking. Just like there are bigger and smaller infinities, there are larger and smaller amounts of casualties. But in comparison to large and small infinities, those numbers do not show the hurt these people went true. In Japan for example, some died in an instant where others went through decades of physical decay because of the damage radiation did. How can that be put in numbers and compared to what happened to people in Vietnam for example.

You can leave out a comparison with a 'sure...you must have forgotten Hiroshima, Nagasaki and the 1.4 million civilian casualties in South Vietnam because of the war, including 415,000 deaths' for example.

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Tuesday the capture of two Chinese nationals reportedly fighting for the Russian Armed Forces in the first update of its kind.

Zelensky, in a Telegram update that includes the interrogation of one of the Chinese men captured, said the two soldiers were captured in Ukraine’s Donetsk region with their personal documents, including bank cards.

Zelensky said Kyiv is aware of more Chinese nationals fighting for Moscow, adding that Ukrainian authorities are working to establish the situation.

“We have information that there are significantly more Chinese citizens in the occupier’s units than two. We are currently clarifying all the facts. Intelligence, the [Security Service of Ukraine] SBU, and the relevant units of the Armed Forces are working,” Zelensky said, adding that the two men are under the SBU’s custody

The Europol-supported operation led to 79 arrests and 1.400 identifications

Kidflix, one of the largest paedophile platforms in the world, has been shut down in an international operation against child sexual exploitation. The investigation was supported by Europol and led by the State Criminal Police of Bavaria (Bayerisches Landeskriminalamt) and the Bavarian Central Office for the Prosecution of Cybercrime (ZCB). Over 35 countries worldwide participated in the operation.

A total of 1.8 million users worldwide logged on to the platform between April 2022 and March 2025. On 11 March 2025, the server, which contained around 72 000 videos at the time, was seized by German and Dutch authorities.

The investigation resulted in the identification of almost 1 400 suspects worldwide. So far, 79 of these individuals have been arrested for sharing and distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Some of those arrested not only uploaded and watched videos but also abused children. The investigation is ongoing.

Nine Red Crescent crew members were missing for a week after they came under Israeli fire in Rafah.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) says 15 bodies have been found in Rafah, southern Gaza, a week after its first responders came under heavy fire from Israeli forces.

The PRCS said on Sunday that eight of the bodies have been identified as PRCS members, six as members of the Civil Defence, and one as a UN agency employee. One PRCS first responder is still missing.

The group said the those killed “were targeted by the Israeli occupation forces while performing their humanitarian duties as they were heading to the Hashashin area of Rafah to provide first aid to a number of people injured by Israeli shelling in the area”.

“The occupation’s targeting of Red Crescent medics … can only be considered a war crime punishable under international humanitarian law, which the occupation continues to violate before the eyes of the entire world.”

In an earlier statement the Red Crescent said the bodies “were recovered with difficulty as they were buried in the sand, with some showing signs of decomposition”.

PRCS President Younis al-Khatib condemned Israel for targeting its paramedics as they “fulfil their humanitarian mission”.

“Those souls are not mere numbers. If this incident [happened] anywhere else, the whole world would have moved heaven and earth to expose this war crime,” al-Khatib said on Sunday.

The Netherlands has issued a new warning to Dutch citizens considering travel to the United States if they are gay, lesbian, transsexual, or another gender or sexual minority. The Dutch government also warned, "The US government has tightened entry controls for foreign visitors," echoing similar concerns raised by other countries, including the United Kingdom and Germany, in messages to their citizens.
