The fucking hell is wrong with these people‽ Get that boy a hug from his dad, he seems like he’s had a ton but he could’ve used another. That’s a seriously loving father son relationship, one I think a lot of us people who had shitty dads see with a lot of respect.

Hell I don’t even check my work phone outside work hours. I’ll answer when I’m being paid to

Unironically yes.

And as for San Francisco, its problem is rapid and astronomical increase in wealth without sufficient accommodation. If my city became the hotbed of the new it industry I’d be screaming about the need for massive investment in affordable housing and public transit because otherwise it’s gonna wind up filled with homeless locals

Leaders tend towards evil. Early in a technology there’s space for innovators to wind up on top, that allows for some morality agnostic advancement. But as time goes on you find yourself led by those who sought leadership, those whose ruthlessness enabled leadership, and those who’ve been in leadership long enough to have had it damage their morality.

Tech is no longer new and fancy, it’s no longer a space where a few people with an idea can wind up in charge of something valuable. It’s an established industry led by investors and businesspeople, their concerns are not for your benefit and even if they are your experiences are so alien to them that they will try to assist using the frameworks they think in, ones of hierarchy, investment, and other capitalistic and paternalistic world views. But most don’t care, they think they do, they think competition raises everyone, and in the off chance they feel a twinge of guilt about their victims that’s what they tell themselves.

When it comes to misogyny yes, but when it comes to the racism it’s a different kind of acknowledgment. It’s the “I know I’m running in the party of racists while in an interracial marriage, but I’ll live with them if they can live with me”.

Ok but can we make fun of the fact that they aren’t required to specify which material? Like let me decide if it carcinogenic enough

Generally it isn’t. The term comes from a meme that involved a gif of an actual trans woman (Bailey Jay)

And also, sometimes you get too into your hobbies. If it was the key to his wood shop or his fishing pole it’d be some relatable joke to boomers. Whether it’s that you just got really sucked into a current project/game or you’re struggling and overdoing it with a healthy coping mechanism (I know when I’m burning out my wife has to remind me to take us time or I will be on my bicycle from the time I get home until it’s too dark to bike). This shit happens sometimes.

It’s a slow slide into that nastiness for them. And the entire time the only thing they’re really concerned about is themselves. They’re pathetic losers

Yeah it’s one of the elements of the authoritarian personality, and it’s fucking weird. It’s weird like someone in the bushes outside your bedroom.

Exactly, we all get a little too into something from time to time. The fact that his was video games from the 90s is both charming and a reminder that he’s not 80. Also it’s the sort of marital conflict that you see in healthy and happy marriages as opposed to the kind you expect to see in politicians’ marriages

But I’ve been getting this error:

[supervisor.docker.interface] Can't install ghcr.io/home-assistant/generic-x86-64-homeassistant:2024.4.4: 500 Server Error for http+docker://localhost/v1.44/images/create?tag=2024.4.4&fromImage=ghcr.io%2Fhome-assistant%2Fgeneric-x86-64-homeassistant&platform=linux%2Famd64: Internal Server Error ("Get "https://ghcr.io/v2/": net/http: request canceled while waiting for connection (Client.Timeout exceeded while awaiting headers)") [supervisor.homeassistant.core] Error on Home Assistant installation. Retrying in 30sec

I’ve tried changing DNS, but it didn’t help and I seem to get no other helpful results from searching. If anyone has any suggestions I’d appreciate it as this seems to be something my home could benefit from but it’s just not loading beyond the CLI
