As a father who raised 4 daughters, you try and stop a young woman from wearing jewelry, perfumes, and even makeup. That's a fight you WILL lose every time.

You should see the dating scene. A young Amish boy holding hands with a young Native walking down a hallway, (or vice versa). It ain't right I tell you.

The "rules" the Amish live by are determined by the Elders of that group. They can be quite strict or fairly loose. And can vary by a fair bit from colony to colony even as neighbors. Cell phones can be fine for one group and be forbidden for the next.

Like some much in life, the rules are open to interpretation.

I keep trying to make that doughnut. And maybe someday I will succeed - or not.

Either way it's got to itch.

It's called destructive testing and it's a lot of fun to do. Just don't be the driver.............

A definite possibility. Or perhaps he discovered the being retired isn't as much fun or relaxing as he thought.

Oddly enough, there isn't maybe as much fun in fishing or traveling or pursuing a hobby(s) every day as you might think. It can be hard to understand for those of us who still need to get up and "be somebody" everyday that not having a reason to do so can lead to mental degradation and depression.

Real life has always been either Pythonesque or the 3 Stooges. And as far as anyone can tell, is unlikely to ever be fixed.

But it's also not unusual that E-Stops can cause severe damage to a machine when used. After all, such switches are meant to instantaneously bring everything to a screeching halt for safety reasons without worrying about the machine.

And in this case, the E-Stop is meant to prevent the MRI from exploding and sending pieces of shrapnel flying everywhere. MRI machines can be quite dangerous in operation.

The issue is the complexity of the bespoke design of drive trains. It's nigh on impossible to design a "one size fits all" or even "fits a majority" of solutions for a conversion kit that isn't stupidly expensive.

See: Edison Motors. A Canadian heavy haul truck manufacturer startup that is trying to offer electric conversions for commercial light and medium duty trucks.

Japan still has a higher density of population and far less landmass to cover. My nearest neighbor is over a mile away. Are you going to build a bus route or light rail just for me? Or through county, state, and federal forest lands? Logistics is a bitch.

These "critical fire" danger warnings from NOAA are really starting to wear on me. Living in drought conditions for 2 years is killing everything. I watch the radar and there is rain falling all around me, but very few drops for this area. And living in the middle of a forest makes for uneasy sleep.

It might be our turn to burn like Canada.
