Hear me out: Had these ideas to ensure lemmy doesn't derail into a short video/meme spiral like every other social platform

• Additional (more specific) up/downvote buttons.

Like "original vs generic", "low effort vs detailed"

Not only can we ensure the engagement doesn't derail into an X-like anarchy or Instagram meme fest, but we can also then sort comments by parameters (ie. you've seen 20 pun comments about the headline and broad topic at hand but want to see actual thoughts about a linked article)

Another idea:

• Instances are commonly offering donation buttons since they need to fund the servers. What if we tied cosmetic "superlike" awards to donations.

Thoughts? Very interested in your inputs/adaptations to my ideas or other cool concepts you have to ensure lemmy staying solid while growing

I never have really modded before but am very interested and even fiddled around in game engines with tutorials. Hard for me but still modding is definitely a big interest I have passively. I also got skyrim wildlanders to work (formerly ultimate skyrim) back in the years. But my memory how I did that is forgotten.

All I know is there was a readme/guide I followed and had to pay like 5€ for faster downloads

Now, I want to mod the Oblivion remaster (heres the mods Id love to try Mod 1: No-HUD , Mod 2: No Compass, Mod 3: Color Reshade

Id be so happy if theres anyone here who could help me answer some questions:

• The other two mods have an .ini and the other one a small instruction to place files in "\OblivionRemastered\Content\Paks" - so every mod is different in installing, how do I install these mods (like the ini) - is it enough for the 2 of them to follow the description? What about the reshade one ("ini only") ?

• Also is it even safe to mod like this on xbox app PC, like is online connectivity safe?

• Do I need to back something up beforehand? game downloaded all day.. would be painful to do that again

I just browsed the feed for 20 mins after a month off being sober and don't miss the disguised instagram feed at all - short videos, meme comments, no old forum experience whatsoever. But thankfully we have that on Lemmy now, so Lemmy try that :)

I am too new to privacy and only got FreeTube(PC) and NewPipe(phone) to run with alot of failures on better applications. Thats another problem Id need help with but primarily this post is about the feature included on this platform in the setting (screenshot).

Any idea how to get this to run that way?

Like can we make this a more vocal opinion that Triple-A studios/publishers are like legally required to offer a version.. Or what is your take on that, especially if you have a similar opinion with a deviation in execution. let me know why if you dont agree too!

Back in the day, introducing video posts destroyed facebook, a friends chatter platform, slowly but surely. Same fate with instagram, a photography/memory platform, getting into reels and videos.

Now if I go to reddit once a month to check in what the vibe is since my "detox" I realized.

Die Verpackungen sind absichtlich immer viel kleiner als das alte Pendant, gleichzeitig ist die Auswahl maximal reduziert oder einfach unverschämt teuer. Vegan Einkaufen in Supermärkten, wenn man nicht gerade in der Metropole lebt, belastet mich manchmal schon.

Da kam mir jetzt der Gedanke mal vielleicht online ne größere vegane Mayo zu finden, die nicht 80ml groß ist. Und entsprechend mehr Auswahl bei allen anderen Produkten zu finden.

Like in a perfect world, we would have a right to run our own servers due to power abuse.

Like imagine offline contents would get ripped out of your hands for older games. The injustice here seems evident to me, especially in the current video game business full of greed and commercialization (like price discrimination).

With that we could also play our emulated games vs other emulators. That would make mario kart so much more valuable as a product to buy as a hard drive disk to emulate it legally, because the game's content is like 80% online play

Only finding old ways and either Im too untalented or it become obsolete (as someone mentioned in an old comment there)

If there would "hypothetically" be an instance owner(like what even is that, just a guy or group having servers somewhere?) that censores in bad faith, could it do that to the communities on there too? Could they just take out certain communities or delete content on it, affect the responsive moderators, etc?

Like how do I know I'm not on a community dependent on u/spez filtering out everything about insurance for his corpo bros?
