Barefoot shoes! Started wearing them 2 years ago and will never go back. I hadn't even realized how much regular shoes crammed my toes together until I started wearing actually foot-shaped shoes. And my feet are narrow.

I just hope we don't have to go through the whole Third Reich thing again like when TV was invented.

I see, thanks.

I wouldn't be surprised if on average women's feet were narrower than men's, but even if that's the case, just make narrow and wide versions of shoes and let people pick the ones that fit their feet. Surely there are men with narrow feet and women with wide feet. It just makes no sense.

As a woman, I think it's stupid that shoes are gendered in the first place. My shoe size is in the realm that exists for both men's and women's shoes. So in shoe stores I can grab the same sneakers from the women's and the men's section. Just sort the damn shoes by size and let people pick the ones they like ffs.

What does that mean "use my own computer"? Do I need to have all the media files on my computer then? Where would I get those from?

Hi,

First of all: thank you for this really nice app. I had been looking for a good open source alternative to Sync for quite a while now and I think this might be it! Love how customizable it is.

One thing I'm currently missing is being able to see the type of post in the "compact" feed view. A picture post and a link to an article that has a preview image, for example, cannot be distinguished.

Sync has this really nice layout where there's a thumbnail on the left and then on the right it shows the content type. You can tap that button on the right to open the content (either show image in viewer mode or open link in browser).

Would make this app basically perfect for me if this could be implemented.

This might be a stupid question but I'd like to carry my smaller camera in my backpack every day. That means that it would sit in there together with my work laptop and occasional groceries or other stuff that I buy on my way home, for example. Therefore I bought a hard shell case (it was very hard to find one that had roughly the correct size) and lined it with some foam. Now the thing is, the case fits pretty well, but it could be a tad higher - currently I put the camera in standing upright and then need to apply a bit of force to the top lid in order to close the zipper of the bag. That means that there will always be some pressure on the camera from top to bottom. That wouldn't be anything I'd worry about, but what if I additionally load a bunch of groceries on it. The way the camera sits in there I assume that the pressure will be immediately transmitted to the top of the camera. Will it be fine?

Here's some photos to illustrate the situation: https://imgur.com/a/e4msHvD

I added a second lemmy account to Sync and on that second account posts aren't marked as read after I opened them. Sometimes they get marked as read after a reload, but only sometimes.

Is that a bug? Is there a solution?
