Hamas barra barra!

Means Hamas out out

For almost a decade Ash Sarkar has been one of Britain’s most prominent left wing political journalists. She first met Aaron Bastani in 2010, and was later invited on to the NovaraFm podcast. It wasn’t long before she was calling Piers Morgan an idiot on morning TV.

Now she has written her first book, ‘Minority Rule’. It chronicles the rise of identity politics - left and right - and how social attitudes changed as our economic model became ever more rigged over the 2010s.

Has identity politics been damaging for progressive change? What does it get right? And what does left-wing politics look like in a moment when ‘woke capitalism’ has subsided?

Ein Ethik-Doktor würde alles mit tausend Bedenken noch zehn Jahre verschleppen. Der hierzulande typische Skeptizismus gegenüber Computern ist so schon schlimm genug.

A trailer is more flexible than a dedicated cargo bike and cheaper.

The short duration is also an advantage. Meth is much more of time commitment.

Legalization also requires regulation. Restrictions on advertisement and sales would be sensible.

The quality levels can be quite different though. If legalized there would also be a market for organic fair trade cocaine and similar marketing techniques.

Or drinks and candy laced with cocaine, cocoa leaf tea, and so on.

One trip with a cargo bike or bicycle trailer.

Someone saying transwomen exist and deserve equal rights to women is not exactly an extremely transphobic position to hold.

That’s a progressive view overall still. Take all the allies you can get. Competitions in ideological purity and playing political commissar only serve to divide.

We live in a time now where equal rights for transwomen and women are under attack.

Rights and identities are not the same thing or equally important.

What many people consider a „real woman“ or „real man“ varies and often excludes cisgender people.

That said, I totally understand that Blahaj defederated and has a more strict stance.

Enpass works well for me.

With the violence and horrors this war has produced, many people struggle to see the meaning of even engaging in dialogue. After people witness the suffering of their own family, they often lose hope that the painful divide can ever be healed. Some even lose the desire for that healing to take place.

Perhaps it’s because they have never seen or been a part of a productive dialogue, one that comes from a place of love and empathy, and that creates light and compassion.

It's crucial for Israelis & Palestinians to be the ones communicating. Those without a direct connection to this conflict shouldn’t be “picking sides” but rather encouraging each side to come closer to the other.

The solutions clearly won't come from those who currently hold the power, so let us rise from below and access the power we would have, if we stood united.

Palestinian advocates like to quip that the current war "didn't begin on October 7." That's true, of course, though unhelpful. It didn't begin in any one specific place. There are no singular first causes in history. When we choose the beginning of the story, we choose its framing and meaning.

For most Israeli Jews, the story of the current war might be said to have begun in the fall of 2000, in the great collapse of Oslo that still casts its long shadow on the Israeli political psyche.

This is that story.
