Courage is knowing it will hurt, and doing it anyway believing it's for the right reasons.

Stupidity is knowing it will hurt, and doing it anyway believing it's for the right reasons.

There'd definitely be a notification for transporter panels of when planets and ships are in transporter range. It'd be a system tied into sensors, so they'd probably know quite a bit about what's around the ship (because they'd also have to compensate for local phenomena)...

...oh, this is a comic and it's supposed to be a joke. My mistake, carry on.

Currently we're in the "It's real, but it's not the end of the world" phase of their arguments.

In a decade or two it will be endless summer, no more winters, no more snow ...and it will just keep getting hotter until then, and after then too.

It totally doesn't. It's even called Capitalism as a nod to the fact you need a shit load of money (capital) to start a business - and to become notable.

So companies and people who are already successful or already backed by wealthy interests automatically have a leg up and a head start under CAPITALism.

It should honestly be a disqualifying demonstration of bad decision making.

You can either put in a lot of effort straight away (saving time and effort later), or delay the inevitable, pay quite a large sum in transport costs every day, and have to do infinite airport runs?...

Choosing the latter shows he shouldn't have the job.

Technically it would be a trepanation.

Makes sense, there's overlap between what they can do, and what they struggle with...

So there's 2/3rds they just can't do... All of which they struggle with... But there's some stuff they CAN DO, and they struggle with... And then there's 1/4 they can do without struggle.

They'll soon be up to the scouting phase of their colonization plans, leaving the westl still hoping Musk's insane plans pan out.

Feels like it's been speeding up the past few years. Barely had a winter season this year.

Well, this is LeftyMemes, so there's a preference for the left here.

Free market Capitalists dislike the population being able to make/recognize the distinction. Because there's a certain kind of "Liberal" who are only Liberals when Liberalism economically benefits them, but become Conservatives (and even radically right wing Conservatives) when Socially Democratic policies, or talk of taxing wealth becomes popular.

Donald Trump, Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, and others have all worn the mask of a "Liberalism" that refuses to to make this distinction (between social and economic liberalism).

A Liberal who is an economic liberal but doesn't seek progressive improvements to society, isn't a liberal at all. They're a conservative in waiting for the moment things progress too far.

Thus leftists are served by keeping this distinction in mind. Learn it. Recognize who will kick up a fuss and change teams, and remember that they have a limited use, and will eventually go no further (or worse, become a major hindrance). You need an exit strategy for those people.

Otherwise progress gets maligned in the name of maintaining the 'status quo'.
