The Biden administration who wants peace does the logical thing and sends more 500lbs bombs to Israel

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 5 points 2 months ago

Well you see Israel is our friend, and when a friend is acting irresponsibly with their weapons we don't disarm them because that would be a violation of the 2nd amendment. No, instead you do the responsible thing and have a beer with them and look them in the eye and say "I'm serious". Real men will get the message and do the ~~wrong~~ right thing and we can all stop worrying about the problem and get back to the real masculine work of shit posting.

Reminder that before Oct 7, Israel was still the occupying force in Gaza, as it still is in the West Bank. The absence of ground troops does not equal an end to occupation. So Biden here is being disingenuous.

They have no access to the waters along their coast and Isreal controls everything going in and out before this war and even more so now. Hamas was able to take over Palestine because of the anger the Palestinians had of Isreal, because of Isreal's thumb on them. Nethanyahu and Hamas came into power at the same time and their hate for each other, which has consequences on their civilians. This is a war between Hamas and Nethanyahu and their people suffer.

What ways of pressure will he use if israel refuses?

[–] bighatchester@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago

By sending more bombs. In sure that will convince Israel to stop .

[–] setsneedtofeed@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Listen fat.

[–] Yawweee877h444@lemmy.world 19 points 2 months ago

Is this before or after we sent a shitload of bombs for the IDF to use on poor emaciated children and homeless people in palestine?

[–] FelixCress@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago (2 children)

The only way long lasting peace can be achieved is dismantling Israel in its current form and creation of the new Israel-Palestine state with power sharing between Jews and Arabs. Something like Northern Ireland solution. All the state functions, army, police to be equally shared between both nations.

Here, here!

[–] steventhedev@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago (2 children)

So 30 years of killing and terrorism. Great idea.

Korean unification has better chances than a one state solution.

[–] FelixCress@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

How many years of occupation and suffering for Palestinian people already?

[–] dubyakay@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Maybe more like BiH, where a third party intervened and said peace now or glass later.

Aka Dayton Agreement.

[–] BobGnarley@lemm.ee 10 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Ah, now we change our tone 4 months out from election.

[–] eronth@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Figures. He is, however, the better choice so hopefully this helps.

[–] Paddzr@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm convinced these people are trolls. No one can be this stupid and consider not voting for Biden over it...its exactly what trumpers would want. They know these votes aren't going for trump, so stopping them going to Biden is the best they can hope for... And it's fucking working. Better yet, people have genuinely fallen for it and spread it on behalf of the troll farms.

[–] BobGnarley@lemm.ee 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Lol nope, I hate both of the old out of touch fucks they give you the choice of. Not telling you or anyone else not to vote simply saying, Of course a politician does something good they could have done the entire time they were in office for years before this months away from an election.

However, although I agree with you on biden being a better choice he is far from a GOOD choice. And everyone acting like that isn't true is also trolling. Sure vote for him over the literal tyrant, but we still should acknowledge that it is abaolutely fucked up that they have let this become the only two choices. That part is what people should acknowledge. I'll vote for dude but its literally like voting for the piece of shit that stinks just a little less. Its crazy that its this way.

Anyway, I was just simply saying that yeah of course dude waits until 4 months out to help the little guy for votes. They all do this and always have, but since you seemed to be curious on my opinion further than that, there it is.

[–] Paddzr@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Thanks, that puts my mind at ease. Emotions are running rampant and comments like the first one are dangerous in my opinion.

But it's someone that is old and not ideal vs someone with potential of going down into history books as second Hitler, if there would be any books left that is...

[–] riodoro1@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

All the students have been fucked already. Now we can pretend to listen to their protests

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 8 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Is desperation finally starting to set in?

[–] FarraigePlaisteach@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

No, just more lies from Biden. Like his red lines, and like when he said he saw the photos of babies from Oct 7th.

I mean better late than never I guess but that's not going to bring back the over 40k Palestinians who's deaths he funded. Good way to distract from Obama and Pelosi telling him to step down though.

[–] riodoro1@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Competing with fascists really shines a light on how awful centrists truly are.
