Must... Resist... Already have... LCD...

Not trying to tempt you, but..... I think it's super worth it! I had an LCD and decided to upgrade because a friend of mine was willing to buy it off me. I'm also just a sucker for OLED, but the extra battery life is also a really nice bonus. But hey, the LCD is still an incredible device either way!

I'm conflicted in buying one or buying a PC, yes the PC would cost more by about 150

Not really but it's a nice feature also the compactness + Linux compatibility + 90hz oled+ Linux+ customability + layovers, filters at ~450 refurbished. But on the other hand a desktop has upgrability + good graphics+ fps + fast unpack for cracked games. As I made this comment I realise SteamOS exists so I think a PC is the best option here

Linux is free, and pretty much all hardware is compatible. AMD GPUs have a small advantage with their open source drivers, but Nvidia cards still function 99.9% of the time as far as I'm aware. You don't need to worry about it. Just install Linux and you're likely good to go.

SteamOS is not modern. It isn't what the Deck is using. (This may change soon and they may open it up.) I use Garuda and I really like it. It's what I'd recommend for anyone looking to do gaming. It comes with a bunch of gaming stuff pre-installed and a tool to quickly install anything extra you may need.

If you are looking purely at budget you can build a machine from pure scraps
