A lot of the time I'll read a thread, realise I have nothing useful to add, and move on.

- Not offensive: at this point, we do not have the bandwidth to moderate overtly political discussions. Assume best intent and be excellent to each other.
- Not regarding using or support for Lemmy: context, see the list of support communities and tools for finding communities below
- Not ad nauseam inducing: please make sure it is a question that would be new to most members
- An actual topic of discussion

Many is the time I've gotten halfway through typing a response only to lose interest in my own opinion.
Same here. I type a response, read before submitting, only to decide it is not worth putting out anyway. I only manage to submit comments when it is related to cooking.
Oh man, thatβs the wor

Got banned from Reddit. Also Reddit is acting like a piece of shit
No idea about anyone else, but I tend to only chime in if the question spurs some kind of thought, or I have a story that matches, or some other kind of quasi useful input.
So it can be weeks before I jump in, or multiples in the same day.
I know beggars canβt be choosers and if every rule breaking post was removed this community would probably only have a few posts left- but frankly, most of the questions just arenβt very good
We're all in better Ask Lemmy on .world
I'm here, I don't answer to anywhere near all questions I see though.
What is this drama this person is talking about?
Probably the thing about a lemy.ml admin doxing some random user some 25 times. Which is VERY not ok.
How is linking to freely and publicly available information to their profile links considered doxxing?
It looks like it's a different situation. One thing is linking one account to other account, if it's relevant. Other thing is leaving all your stuff at once, perfect for someone stalking you. That person was completely stalking that user.
Yeah well, that's not doxxing.
Nothing but anecdotal, but it kinda looks like Bluesky is becoming a thing. Couple that with a lot of people taking a step back from the world right now.
brazil jumped from twitter, that was a huge part of it. the election caused another wave.
bluesky is just twitter with faux-federation. it will end up with the same issues eventually when its board decides to recoup.
The dotnet conference is happening right now and I was surprised to hear a couple of the speakers advertising their Bluesky. They had accounts on other social media too, but that seemed to be their main one. These are tech enthusiasts so it makes some sense, but it's always seemed like an afterthought whenever I've seen profiles linked before.
Bluesky grew by a million users in a week.
What's Bluesky? First time hearing that
You're living under a rock, aren't you? I keep reading about it nearly everywhere, way more than I would like to.
It's a microblogging platform, i.e. replacement for Twitter: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluesky
Thanks for this post. Yet another power tripper that is blocked (from the drama link)
I browse all and the front page of lemmy.ml. I don't usually seek out specific communities.
Are you sure you want my answers?
I answer if I see it and I can answer
that's in interesting perspective since i'm seeing the opposite with responses to all the questions.
i go through asklemmy every morning while i'm caffeinating at the start of each day because the questions usually wake me up with a WTF or a TIL.
i must be on their blocked list. lol
also: i wonder at how it weighs on your soul & outlook to feel like you have to curate such a list in a safe space.
