True man of the people.

Triangle Shirtwaist would certainly still be something folks would remember in 1914, having just happened 3 years prior.

...and a Shirtwaist is like a Victorian era long sleeve dress, but without the bottom half of the garment. It's basically a stiff fronted blouse, often with puffy sleeves.

Came here to mention this was three and a half years after the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. There is zero doubt this is a result of that.
