And I don't know why people think "monetisation are ads". It's nearly the first thing that came out of his mouth when talking about money. It feels like the facebook et al have just redefined what it means to monetise something and people assume it means ads. However, all it means is "to make a profit or derive income from" (dictionary.com). Ads are nowhere in the definition.
