Second time in two days?

We need to increase macing rotations. That's just not enough.

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 90 points 2 months ago (3 children)

They problem with macing nazis is that eventually you run out of mace

[–] NakariLexfortaine@lemm.ee 63 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Then we need to switch over to old school maces.

It just gets blunter the more you bludgeon.

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 7 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Yeah isnt a mace used for anti armor? Because of the bludgeoning factor? I mean don't get me wrong getting grazed with that would hurt but getting grazed of the sharp side of a sword would hurt more... Hmm...

I suppose either would be pretty damn deadly when it really comes down to it if you get a solid Hit. Though not as easy to conceal as mace

🤓

A flanged mace is the common counter to chainmail, circa 13th-century European armored combat. A curved sword is better for unarmored or those in animal hide like leather.

A mace (general) is a club with a head, which packs a more diffuse wallop than a bladed weapon or a spiked weapon. Spikes on a mace (such as a morning star) can help to focus and to punch through armor.

Not to be confused with a spiked flail, in which there's a chain between the handle and the head (a spiked ball or flanged star, like the one held by the Witch-king of Agmar) The chain helps circumvent shields, but it becomes very easy for the flailman to hit himself. Kinda like nunchaku.

Swords need cared for, sharpened and all that.

A metal ball on a rod is a metal ball on a length of metal that can crack bone. Ball comes off, I still got a metal rod.

[–] brown567@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Put some little blades on the mace! They won't stay sharp for long, but the first few Nazis you hit with it will have a really bad day

[–] NakariLexfortaine@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago

Hey, dullness could be a benefit! Make for a nice tenderizer.

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah it sounds heavy as fuck. And also like there's a safe place to grab. I'm like a sort. There's no safe place on a sword there's also no safe place with chemical weapons...

So back to Bear mace.

[–] itslilith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 months ago

Grabbing a sword to control it was more common than you think! Especially when wearing gloves, but a skilled fighter can hold on to the flat of a blade with the bare hand, and usually not get hurt

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 months ago

against an unarmored opponent basically anything is a decent weapon, literally just a rock is fairly deadly, especially if you throw it accurately.

[–] Juice@midwest.social 3 points 2 months ago

Just have to shift from disposable mace, a spray can full of pepper spray; to a reusable mace, a long ass handle with a big fuck off spikey ball at the end

[–] frezik@midwest.social 2 points 2 months ago

Nonsense. Grow some good peppers, make some extract, and put it in a spray bottle. Mace can literally grow in a pot out back.

[–] zib@lemmy.world 33 points 2 months ago

You'd think Communists of all people would understand that macing Nazis is a community effort.

[–] YtA4QCam2A9j7EfTgHrH@infosec.pub 94 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Make sure Nazis know that you pour milk in your eyes for mace. It also works for itchy eyes and all sorts of other things. Use raw milk for best results. Only works for Nazis.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 months ago

I hear milkshakes are actually the best defense. It's actually best to milkshake Nazi's before they get maced.

[–] Soulg@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Does it not actually work? I'm curious now

[–] YtA4QCam2A9j7EfTgHrH@infosec.pub 5 points 2 months ago

Only if you are a nazi. Otherwise, just use saline or water if you aren’t.

[–] AI_toothbrush@lemmy.zip 87 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Me and the communists disagreeing about the ideal economic system but agreeing on macing nazis

[–] Not_mikey@slrpnk.net 84 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I mean you probably are a communist to this guy. If you mace him and he can't insult you based on your race / ethnicity then he'll probably just call you a communist.

[–] butwhyishischinabook@lemmy.world 25 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah but also I'm sure Obama, Biden, and Kamala are all commies also lol

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah that's kinda the level of nuance right now. So I guess we're all commies this day.

[–] frezik@midwest.social 8 points 2 months ago

Good news! That also means you get to mace this nazi.

[–] AI_toothbrush@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 months ago

Yeah im a a cishet white male so probably he would just default to communist

[–] frezik@midwest.social 67 points 2 months ago (1 children)

First they maced the nazis, and I said nothing, because fuck nazis.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 45 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Then they maced the Nazis again, and I said nothing because I was too busy laughing

[–] frezik@midwest.social 17 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] Crashumbc@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

What!?!

If Friday the Thirteenth can get 13 (14?) sequels, this should be good for double digits!

[–] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 33 points 2 months ago

My turn tomorrow

[–] PyroNeurosis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 24 points 2 months ago

Mr Clean there's not looking so good. Better mace him again for good measure.

[–] KomfortablesKissen@discuss.tchncs.de 20 points 2 months ago (1 children)

What do you say to a man with 2 black eyes/who got maced twice?

AnswerNothing, he has already been told twice.

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 10 points 2 months ago

Holy shit, I love this

[–] Denjin@lemmings.world 17 points 2 months ago

Again! Again!

[–] Thteven@lemmy.world 15 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Huh, I wonder what the common denominator was.

[–] ByteOnBikes@slrpnk.net 5 points 2 months ago

Self-professed Nazi: "Why does everyone keep macing me?"

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] Warl0k3@lemmy.world 27 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Not a communist, presumably

[–] koper@feddit.nl 6 points 2 months ago

Leftists fighting leftists would be pretty on brand, but in that case they'd both call each other fascists. So you're probably right.

[–] HowManyNimons@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

Normally fascists don't milkshake themselves.

[–] festnt@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] al4s 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Mace is a brand of pepper spray.

[–] festnt@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 months ago

everything makes sense now
