I'm not sure you read what I wrote.

Legit reason: Chain of evidence. They can't bring in an outside expert that hasn't been vetted, and they especially can't use equipment that has been outside their control and hasn't been verified intact. Damn near zero youtubers would pass NSA vetting, which clearly rules out their equipment as well. The fact this is such an outdated tech means there's no verified-trustworthy experts within or contracted with the government that can work with it, so they really are stuck not being able to do anything with this tech in house. Digital obsolescence is a very serious problem, especially in government (why do you think they pay so much for COBOL developers?) and this truly is a nontrivial issue to overcome.

... Which is the bureaucratic legitimacy behind this claim. Obviously they could fix this, I mean duh. But it's an actual hassle, and they see no benefit to going through it to reveal something they don't see a point to revealing. So they just hide behind the legit issues, shrug, and know we can't do anything about it.

If I remember right, samsung/iphone face unlock won't work on a corpse since it relies (at least in part) on infrared constellations that incorporate patterns formed by subdermal capillary networks and death obviously disrupts those.

That's frequently not the choice of the driver. An adequate follow distance provides a luxurious amount of space for someone to merge into, forcing you to slow to extend the follow distance, which allows more people to merge... etc.

The probability of interaction between a nuclei and a particle is called a "barn" - because its a bit like shooting the broad side of a barn.

Its a standard Sci unit, too, so real actual papers will use "megabarn" as a real unit of measure.

Its subunit is called a "shed", because physicists don't get out enough.

There are plenty of AI companies making money, but they're all small time and actually useful to the consumer. DeepL, CharacterAI, Novel AI, any of the ten billion underage auto nudifier apps, AI Girlfriends, etc. They're not moral, but they are making money. But none of them are on the stock market...

which is good, they haven't been poisoned by capitalism yet

Dead, I dont think so. At least not the two guys to the side. That one behind the breach tho, yeah he just had his 'nads blasted off. The other two are still standing and that was a really flame heavy (low energy) explosion + the camera guy barely flinches when it goes off. Any shrapnel was most likely contained by the barrel, so only the guy directly behind the breach was at direct risk from that. Those other two are having a bad day, but they're gonna walk away...

Oo, nice try turning this around on them. But nah, man, you're refusing to acknowledge the ruling itself explicitly telling you you're wrong. You're not arguing in good faith. Go away.

Idk, my dogs always LOVED doing weird new shit like this with us. While I never took them scuba diving, they hit stratospheric levels of freakout and tried to come in and rescue us the one time we left them where they could see us (on shore at a public lake) while we waded into the water to dive. They probably would have been psyched to get to come with us after the first few seconds of freak-out.

But they loved trampolines, indoor skydiving, longboarding, diving (as in from a diving board), eating drywall and sneaking into our neighbors houses to try and steal their food.

RIP Pheobe and Godog, you were absolute terrors.
