I watched Akira for the first time. It was awesome. Now I need to read the manga!

Isn't the anime like just a small part of the manga run. Its huge!

From what I've heard, the movie takes the first half of the first volume and the last half of the sixth volume and sprinkles in some plot points from the other volumes throughout. I haven't felt like this since I watched the first season of Invincible, then read all three compendia.

I’m stuck in reruns. Right now it’s between The Office extended cut season 7, and Deep Space 9. And then Last Week Tonight. John Oliver is a god.

Cloud Atlas - very bad. Cute overall plot, but script is absolute nonsense. Feels like it was written by a very motivated 15 year old.

Harakiri - fucking great. Brilliant photography, plot, script, acting.

Oh, I like that you link relevant communities.

I have been watching Digimon Adventure 2020, I was looking for nostalgia, but I haven't been satisfied... I won't say it is terrible... But sometimes it is 🤣

I have also watched the first two episodes of Severance and I like it.

Tropical Thunder and still working through the Australian Utopia series.

Bad Monkey. I’m only two episodes in but I’m digging it. Funny that I don’t normally like Vince Vaughn but he’s working it and he’s just the right touch.

The Addams Family, the black and white show from the 60s. It's actually pretty great.

The Hidden is a surprisingly good old sci-fi/thriller from 1987 starring Kyle MacLachlan. I had never heard of it but it came up on the Nextlander Watchcast and I'm glad it did!

Watched the gudetama shorts on Netflix last night after a few beers and quite enjoyed it

Oh and I watched the mask for the first time since my childhood at the start of the week, fun to see what probably went over my head when I was younger

The Cars films. Yup, they sure do exist.

Repo Man the Genetic Opera.

It was awesome lol. It was like Sin City meets the aesthetics of Resident Evil, operatic.

Edit: r for t

Prometheus! It's a prequel to Alien, and a very good one at that, though it goes without saying that you need to try and look past the abundance of silly decisions that the characters make throughout the movie.

There's a very good fan edit out there which removes many of the silly moments, such as the scientist talking to the worm creature as if it's cute and cuddly. They also completed VFX work on the deleted scenes and placed then back in the film.

It may be hard to find now. Looking at fan edit.org, I think it's Prometheus: Paradise Edition.

I watched the movie Vengeance and it was very good with a very surprising ending.
