So happy to see at least one person dodge the AIPAC machine! I hope they spent a bunch of money losing this race!

Don Samuels is a corrupt garbage human, it should never have been that close regardless of your view of our Israel policy.
How so?
Edit: Oi, voted for Illy fwiw! Just never made time to dig up on the other guy and wanted some insights and intel from the community!
IIRC: He helped close down the poorest school in his city district instead of funding and fixing it. Championed broken windows policing that in part led to things like George Floyd and poor people I know getting massive fines for things like chipped paint on their house, leading to foreclosures and a debtors system with the city. Worked to kick out small businesses in favor of corporate chains. Tried to push poor people into neighboring districts and suburbs. Etc. Nothing he ever put his hands on helped people. I think it was very likely he was being paid under the table by business interests to do this stuff. If not, he is still a royal piece of shit.
When the revolution comes, he's on the short list of people to punch in the face.
He called the cops on a Get Out the Vote rally because they were giving away hotdogs. Also he hates unions.
I mean, honestly what the hell...
Cheers for the through write up! Sounds like a real piece of work...
I'm not from Minnesota and know nothing about Don Samuels or this primary, but anyone who'd run against Ilhan Omar is probably a garbage human.
Lmao, fair point!
AIPAC are saving their big guns for AOC
She won her primary a couple months ago and she's in a very blue district.
They can still fund her opponent in the general.
And I'm sure that if they succeed, lemmy's centrists will gloat just like they did when a genocidal regime bought candidates to unseat Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush.
First part is true, but irrelevant since it's a blue district like I tried to explain to the other dude. When I say blue, I mean she more than doubled her next closest opponent (the Republican candidate)'s votes. It would be a waste of AIPAC's money from their perspective.
Second part sounds like fan fiction because the users on Lemmy I've interacted with don't sound like people who want to see a solidly blue district turn red.
Yeah, that pretty much aligns with what I thought. A comment downvoted to -122.
It doesn't mean AIPAC cannot fund the campaign of a more conservative Democrat.
Yeah it does, because in the general election, she'll be the only Democrat. That's the purpose of the primary.
Didn't we see one Democrat beat another the other week?
That's a primary. Different places have primaries at different times.
@tootoughtoremember@lemmy.world
I don't understand the point you two are making.

Edit: I think I understand your thought process. This isn't the only year with primaries and elections...
Thank you for this wonderful news.
