  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

I don’t get it. Is childless a bad thing? Is it bad to have cats? I understand the cat lady trope, but I’ve always known cat ladies to be very nice people.

I feel like this is intended to be some kind of smear, but it doesn’t look insulting. Would someone help me understand why these are bad? Am I too leftist to understand this joke?

If a person is happy with their life choices and not hurting anyone, why should we care?

Conservatives believe that childless people, but childless women in particular, are shirking their moral duties as good citizens and good children of God. They are therefore of lesser value in the social hierarchy.

Factories need their servants, armies need their fodder. And don't forget about reversing the Great Replacement...

Churches need their paying flock.

So The Handmaid's tale preface?

Misogyny. That's all it is.

Women who deviate even in the slightest from the role the patriarchy has assigned (get married, have babies - that is a woman's "purpose") are "wrong". In the past, they'd call us witches (where the cat trope originates) and burn us alive, now they can just say it as it is while the gendered violence epidemic runs riot- she did not make herself a vessel for a man's seed, therefore she is a threat, and deserves everything she gets (some might even say she "asked for it" by making certain choices, that none of us actually know that she made).

My favorite cat lady was Sigourney Weaver in Alien.

Print photos of different couches and mail them to any or all of these locations:

Don’t forget to add little love notes. e.g., “Thinking of you 💋”

God I hope she does a commercial talking about her plans as president but from an old apartment where she keeps falling over different cats. I don't know that everyone would get it but it would hit hard.

Cat ladies are the witches to these people.
