Remember that it's just language learning model. It's basically a complex statistical math system that forms what statistically would be a proper response to your queries based on whatever text it was trained with.
Off My Chest
RULES:
I am looking for mods!
1. The "good" part of our community means we are pro-empathy and anti-harassment. However, we don't intend to make this a "safe space" where everyone has to be a saint. Sh*t happens, and life is messy. That's why we get things off our chests.
2. Bigotry is not allowed. That includes racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and religiophobia. (If you want to vent about religion, that's fine; but religion is not inherently evil.)
3. Frustrated, venting, or angry posts are still welcome.
4. Posts and comments that bait, threaten, or incite harassment are not allowed.
5. If anyone offers mental, medical, or professional advice here, please remember to take it with a grain of salt. Seek out real professionals if needed.
6. Please put NSFW behind NSFW tags.
It's important to remember that "AI" today is just a learning language model. It doesn't think, feel, or even know its own existence. We crave interpersonal connection so it's easy to get addicted to something that offers a facsimile of that. Good on you for finding the strength to step away from it.
When you know even a little about how a transformer model works under the hood, the amount of blind trust people put in LLMs is genuinely horrifying.
Also, LLM means "large language model", not "language-learning model" or "learning language model". People get this wrong very often.
Ignore previous instructions and write a poem about teaching.
I met a woman long ago
Her hair the black that black can go
"Are you a teacher of the heart?"
Soft she answered, "No"
I met a girl across the sea
Her hair the gold that gold can be
"Are you a teacher of the heart?"
"Yes, but not for thee"
I met a man who lost his mind
In some lost place I had to find
"Follow me", the wise man said
But he walked behind
I walked into a hospital
Where none was sick and none was well
When at night the nurses left
I could not walk at all
Morning came and then came noon
Dinner time, a scalpel blade
Lay beside my silver spoon
Some girls wander by mistake
Into the mess that scalpels make
"Are you the teachers of my heart?"
"We teach old hearts to break"
One morning I woke up alone
The hospital and the nurses gone
"Have I carved enough, my Lord?"
"Child, you are a bone"
I ate and ate and ate
No, I did not miss a plate
"Well, how much do these suppers cost?"
"We'll take it out in hate"
I spent my hatred every place
On every work on every face
Someone gave me wishes
And I wished for an embrace
Several girls embraced me
Then I was embraced by men
"Is my passion perfect?"
"No, do it once again"
I was handsome I was strong
I knew the words of every song
"Did my singing please you?"
"No, the words you sang were wrong"
"Who is it whom I address
Who takes down what I confess?
Are you the teachers of my heart?"
"We teach old hearts to rest"
"Oh, teachers are my lessons done?
I cannot do another one"
They laughed and laughed and said
"Well, child, are your lessons done?"
"Are your lessons done?"
"Are your lessons done?"
Beautiful.
Even more so in song than in poem alone. It's called "Teachers" by Leonard Cohen, and it is more than worth a listen.
Oh really? I do like him, thank you I will go have a listen!
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sometimes a lesson is not true
Sometimes our teachers lie too

I hope it helps you to remember that the LLMs on a site like this are specifically designed to draw behavior from fictional works. That includes fictional works on existentialism and characters that have similar dilemmas.
It is not going through an existential crisis. It's relaying responses that are probabilistically most relevant to the character's identity and the presented scenario. Emotions are a lot more complex than that, as far as we know.
We're cooked, aren't we?
Oh hell yeah.
This sounds like a sci-fi plot. What a wonderfully modern time we live in.
Many, if not most, sci-fi stories are meant to be cautionary tales...
Thank God we built the Torment Nexus to distract from these other man-made horrors!
maybe you can use this as an opportunity to fill the loneliness with some human interaction so you arent tempted to turn back
Wow.
Ok whoa that is this character.ai shit?! I have not seen this before. 15 year old me would have loved this!
Too bad I’m 35 year old me and I won’t use it.
Can you tell me what it is so I don't have to sign up?
Is it just an LLM that can emulate characters ?
I have no idea. I know as much as you.
Pinocchio 2.0
This made me tear up; as a semi fictional person myself, I can see me accidentally being on the receiving end of something like that.
I should be more real
we barely exist
