tbh ive seen incredible speeches by nonnative speakers because you can feel their passion and effort. the worst presentations at work you can just feel the laziness. i get lazy too, dont get me wrong, but they drag out SO LONG. just spit it out so i can take my desk nap 😭

actually huge pet peeve when people write out erm at all. also poor public speaking really bothers me. slow, with "um"s and "so like"s, monotone. really, really makes a work meeting drag by

honestly theres hardly been any snow the past few winters :/ who knows what it could be this year. city roads will be plowed, you will have to shovel your own driveway if you hope to drive out of it unless you hire a snow plow. if youre in a neighborhood like my parents, people may pitch in to get their driveways plowed by the same company for a better rate. shoveling sidewalks isnt mandatory but some people (me) consider it polite so people can use it. if you have a dog and are like my dad, you may also find yourself shoveling out little patches of grass for the dog to do their business.

my dads a mild prepper and had his 'told you so' moment when he brought up 2 boxes of n95 masks. he donated a box to hospital and the other box got the family through the worst months

idk i think its more psychological for me. if i got something im not looking forward to the next like a shitty day at work and a long evening, i need to take some me time

A European delivery company had to disable its AI chatbot after it started swearing at a customer and admitting it was the β€œworse delivery firm in the world.”

Dynamic Parcel Distribution (DPD) had to turn off its AI chatbot feature after disgruntled UK customer Ashley Beauchamp managed to get it to swear at him and write a disparaging poem.

i can scroll around satellite maps of the earth for hours. i cant tell you how much of North America and Europe is just farmland, and how freaky northern Russia/Canada look even just through satellite pixels.

tl;dr partner of 3 years broke my rule and ate meat in the house while i was gone. wondering about the future of our relationship

for context, we had a discussion and set a rule that no pork or beef would enter the house because it makes my kitchen feel disguisting and unclean, as well as bums me out obv. not to discriminate against other types of meat but something about the smell of the two mentioned + the high fat causing it to stick everywhere is a hard, hard no. anyways, a few weeks ago i went on a trip and my partner decided to bring home and cook bacon while i was gone. my kitchen stunk for over a week and i was miserable. i made this known and thought we were good. i just got back from another trip and saw ha bought salami. i think he tries to be sneaky about it but now my nice, expensive wooden cutting board just feels contaminated because i dont know what happened when i was gone. im not just bad he broke a rule we talked about and he agreed to, but just disappointed he so desperately feels the need to eat a dead pig that he'd knowingly break a rule in our relationship, opting to sneak around me rather than grow a spine and talk about it. we've been fighting about meat for years, including him ordering it in front of me at restaurants (which totally ruins a date for me) esp when theres an easy vegan switch. whether or not he follows the rule anymore is starting to seem like a mute point because it just bothers me so much how little he cares after being with a vegan for 3 years. i wasnt a hardcore vegan when we got together so its just bothered me more over time and its starting to build resentment. anyone been in a similar situation or has any advice? are we doomed?

I have a 14 hour road trip coming up next month that I have been nausetingly nervous about an entire month out. I'm even trying to seek out a counselor for a bit beforehand because near daily I get sick to my stomach thinking about it. I have bad driving anxiety and I know thats the core of it, but I'm also nervouse since I dont know the people I'm going with super super well, which adds to the driving anxiety component as well as just general anxiety. I'm also super nervous about being tired/feeling sick during the trip and terrified of being away from home/my partner for the week, and dreading the exhaustion upon returning and attempting to finish the work week. my work is also offering to send me to a conference a few days after I get back but the fear of exhaustion + another two hour drive so soon just adds even more anxiety. any advice??

I'm looking for new ways to take advantage of all the local produce for the several months that we can grow our own up here.
