Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

It's pretty funny that most of the time we have to wait years, often not until the next term, to feel the economic impact of a president, but Trump knows how to make shit happen immediately

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 19 points 1 day ago

It sucks that only evil agendas can be illegally implemented without consequence.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 34 points 1 day ago (4 children)

No he didn't! As my coworkers landlord pointed out, "obviously this is the fallout from Obama's terrible presidency."

...yes... it's all Obamas fault... Right...of course it is.

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They could have at least blamed Biden.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

No, no, no. This obviously all goes back to Bill and Hitlary. And don't forget about what CARTER did this economy!!!111

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Well if they're going that far back it's actually Reagan most responsible for where we are today.

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 4 points 1 day ago

Damn Washington, ruining our economy!

[–] Trihilis@ani.social 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Are you sure it wasn't the Romans in 27BC who were to blame?

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 15 points 1 day ago

To be honest as a wise sage once put it, the problem goes back even further than the Romans:

"In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

-Douglas Adams

I blame Alexander Hamilton

[–] IAmJacksRage@lemm.ee 5 points 1 day ago

So the “short term pain” Trump promised isn’t even here yet?!?

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I'm having a tough time believing they said Obama instead of Biden. They moved on to blaming Biden for everything as groupthink a while ago.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I dunno man there was that lady interviewed that said she thought the covid deaths were due to Obamas incompetence in handling it... You know that thing that didn't happen while he was in office? He's responsible apparently.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 1 points 1 day ago

I can't say I was there to see it, but my coworker isn't one to make things up from what I've seen of him.

[–] BigMacHole@lemm.ee 43 points 1 day ago (3 children)

He's a STRONG BUSINESSMAN playing 7D CHESS!

-LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN VOTER IN THE UNITED STATES!

[–] 60d@lemmy.ca 21 points 1 day ago

According to John Stewart's Monday show, Trump is winning, and has doubled his net worth, so I don't see the problem.

[–] wirebeads@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He’s not at chess level. He’s trying to play connect 4 with 3 pieces.

Enjoy my friend. Spread it far and wide when referring to the orange Mussolini.

[–] pivot_root@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

A more depressing and less bat shit insane take I heard from a few of them is that "it will hurt but it needs to happen" and "everybody takes advantage of America and Trump will change that".

Where cult stupidity doesn't work, propaganda still does.

...while accomplishing absolutely nothing of value

To be fair, he did say something about ending daylight savings.

Trump is so delusional he probably thinks prices are lower than ever and the economy is booming
