Man, that’s beyond kissing Musk’s ring and is sucking his fingers, too.

In my state, it's not a matter of opinion. It's a lemon.

  • One of the following happened during the vehicle’s first year and before the warranty expired:
** The dealer failed 4 times to fix the same nonconformity
** The vehicle was unable to be operated (“out of service”) for 30 days or more due to defects

If it hasn't hit that 30 day window yet, it will soon.

Pitiful amounts of cope.

"Early Adopter" of a 150 technology. Hummmm

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.ml 12 points 1 day ago

"Early adopter" and "will never use anything else".

Is this satire?

"The brand new car I bought has been out of commission for roughly 25% of the time Ive owned it. Is it a bad car?"

"All the people telling me this car is bad are wrong because it's the best car in the world, but my question still stands. Is it a bad car?"

[–] mutual_ayed@sh.itjust.works 78 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

"Reinforce my world view and support my decision to pay 120k for a truck that will not drive. If you don't you're speaking from an emotional place and facts don't care about feelings."

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 53 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Any other brand and car people would laugh them out of every single forum. "You spent six figures for your vehicle in October, it has been serviced multiple times, for weeks, and you say you'll continue to only drive BMWs??"

The cult-like behavior of right-wing extremists is insane...

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

If I had a dollar for every time a BMW leaked oil all over the parking lot at work...

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 37 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Like arguing with a maga supporter. If they had a brain, they wouldn't be maga.

[–] JokeDeity@lemm.ee 7 points 2 days ago

You really don't think this guy is a Trumper?

[–] hddsx@lemmy.ca 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Your comment makes no sense. Every manufacturer produces some lemons. If it’s bad 25% of the time, it could just be a lemon.

That being said, Tesla does not make good products and the “lemon” rate for their trucks seem to be unusually high

[–] piccolo@sh.itjust.works 1 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Is it really a lemon if thats just the natural state?

[–] hddsx@lemmy.ca 1 points 22 hours ago

Yes. Tesla is just a lemon tree

[–] Frostbeard@lemmy.world -5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

TBF. My neighbour bought an I.D.4 in summer 2021 and I never even saw it as he constantly has an I.D.3 as a loaner from the dealer. After a year of constant repairs he cancelled the purchase and got a new Skoda Octavia estate (ice) as he needed something bigger for his three kids. In 2023 he got a Tesla model 3, as the financing was pretty amazing.

The ID4 had so many early errors that it was absolutely dogshit, but now most of the kinks has been worked out and it's a decent car.

The cybertruck can probably become a decent (if insanely stupid car) once they work out the kinks. Tesla is still a brand with leprosy though

[–] Senal@programming.dev 14 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Having never owned a one i can't say this with first-hand experience, but aren't the issues with the cybertruck more to do with core design fuck ups.

To the point they wouldn't really be considered "kinks" as much as critical design and safety flaws ?

[–] Frostbeard@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Thats a fair point. It seems to be badly designed, engineeres and made, all at the same time.

My point was that it's not uncommon for some of these electric cars that were rushed to be pretty bad. (Not because they are electric, but the rush to get models to the market.) The Toyota Bz4x was recalled (and sales stopped) because the wheels fell of.

[–] RogueBanana@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

If they stopped production of bz4x because they couldn't fix it, why would you think Tesla well fix this dumpster? Not to mention all the flaws with the company itself.

[–] endeavor@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 days ago

Vw cars having errors and poor design comes with the brand.

[–] kn0wmad1c@programming.dev 61 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Tesla always takes care of their customers

That's why they don't allow third party repairs and refuse to share maintenance data with insurance companies, right? To take care of the customer? Certainly not to swindle the customer with fake maintenance data

[–] endeavor@sopuli.xyz 20 points 2 days ago

disables autopilot moments before crash in order to blame the driver nothing personell kid

[–] arotrios@lemmy.world 54 points 2 days ago

Man buys lemon from lemon store.

"Did I buy a lemon?"

[–] polyamorypagan69@lemm.ee 12 points 2 days ago

Facist clown is a lemon bitch you got played reliable vehicles don't break multiple times in almost succession. Hopefully next time it locks you inside and your be a rotten lemon.

[–] ButteryNickel@lemmy.wtf 39 points 2 days ago

"Oops all lemons"

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 13 points 2 days ago

Died again? You think the. 2nd time you would evaluate you got a piece of junk

[–] The_Caretaker@lemm.ee 11 points 2 days ago

A reliable inexpensive reasonably sized electric vehicle

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 38 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Nope! That's normal, expected behavior.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 7 points 2 days ago

Cyber trucks are single use cars

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 25 points 2 days ago

no. its the haters who are wrong.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 16 points 2 days ago

He should have known that that dumpster isn't a real truck. Or car. It's the half-baked vanity project by a narcissistic loser who hasn't figured out yet that all the money in the world can't make you cool.

[–] RejZoR@lemmy.ml 14 points 2 days ago

Tesla: "Kwolity"

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemm.ee 26 points 2 days ago

What’s funny is that these dick-heads do this to themselves willingly and are self-identifying.

[–] ElcaineVolta@kbin.melroy.org 19 points 2 days ago

they should actually just count the cash as a loss and be grateful they're still alive and weren't locked inside to burn to death.

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago

If you’re going to keep buying Teslas then what are you bitching about? Go play with your lemon.

[–] OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago

It's copelicated

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Tesla, at the insistence of Elon, made a terrible product.

It's hard to admit you were duped into spending $100,000 on a piece of crap. Some owners realized it when they took delivery, others will take much longer, but all will eventually come to the realization, whether they admit it to anyone else, or not.

“It's Easier to Fool People Than It Is to Convince Them That They Have Been Fooled.” - Mark Twain

[–] nokturne213@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 days ago

One of my wife’s friends from college is a rabid Tesla fan from before Elon showed his colors. We saw him just as the cybertruck was rolling out. He was lamenting that he did not have his yet. Then all the problems started arising, he kept insisting it was Tesla haters making it all up.

AFAIK his ct has been in the shop more than his driveway. He still insists it is a quality product.

[–] argh_another_username@lemmy.ca 14 points 2 days ago

The worst blind is the one who doesn’t want to see.

Sometimes you just need to be told that you bought an over-hyped shitbox from a manufacturer with a known history of quality control issues. You didn't get a lemon, dude. That dumb fucking thing is functioning exactly as expected.

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 10 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

doesn't matter if a statement is "emotional" or not. numbers are numbers and facts are facts

fuck fascla and fuck everyone who bought one in the last 2 years

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

What is a “vehicle specially ice”?

[–] rothaine@lemm.ee 14 points 2 days ago

ICE = internal combustion engine

[–] carl_dungeon@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sounds like his is a pretty reliable one as they go

[–] laurelraven@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Can't run over pedestrians the driver can't see if they can't drive it... Sounds like the best feature Tesla put on this monstrosity to me

[–] Canonical_Warlock@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Just an FYI, your account is flagged as a bot so anything you post may be hidden to some people because of that. If you are not a bot then you may want to go into your account settings and uncheck the bot account box.

[–] laurelraven@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 days ago

Huh...I wonder how that got checked... Thanks for letting me know!

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 2 days ago

Well if it's really the best car in the world, it's not a lemon. But we both know it's not even close to the best car in the world.
